Location/Division Specific Information

We are seeking a Software Product Manager who applies their skills to our team in Madison, WI. This is an outstanding chance for the ideal candidate to become part of a global market-leading Vibrational Spectroscopy instrumentation and services team. We collaborate with customers by using our Raman, Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) and Near IR instruments to expedite innovation and attain higher efficiency across various applications.

How will you make an impact?

Contribute to software development for our Vibrational Spectroscopy team as the Software Product Manager. Collaborate with engineers and product specialists to enhance our FTIR, Raman, and NIR platforms. Improve our portfolio through feature differentiation, product positioning, and lifecycle management. Balance multiple priorities, incorporate diverse perspectives, and possess expertise in software development, commercialization, and marketing.

Collaborate with the instrument product management team to understand customer needs and improve the software workflow experience.

What will you do?

Drive the software product roadmap strategy of the Vibrational Spectroscopy product lineProvide product-specific technical and marketing support to our field sales organizations and channel partnersGuide the development of application-specific marketing materials, working hand-in-hand with the applications teamAct as the champion for the customer experience; collecting and analyzing customer feedback to uncover user needsBe responsible for the software product lifecycle developing the argument, product launch plans, versioning strategy, pricing, value proposition, and commercialization approachIncrease customer and business value through product differentiation

Education

Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Business, Chemistry, Physical Science, Life Science, Computer Science or equivalent required.

Experience

Minimum 2+ years of software product development or product management experience requiredStrong software background required; experience with scientific instrumentation software desirableStrong customer facing experience required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Strong customer focus, ownership, and driveDemonstrated excellent judgment and ability to see the big picture, while navigating technology and partner development decisions and tradeoffs.Work experience converting market intelligence into valuable features delivering one or more software productsStrong technical acuity and understanding of emerging ground-breaking technologies, like cloud computing, IoT, complex event analysis, sophisticated analytics etc.Able to assess impact of projects and prioritize/allocate time accordinglyExcellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail; ability to step back and analyze the overall business impactOutstanding written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on communicating technical requirements and solutions to internal and external audiences.
