Product Manager - Technical, Region Reliability
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced technical professional for an innovative role as a Region Reliability Product Manager-Technical within our newly formed Region Reliability Engineering (RRE) organization. This position is pivotal in evangelizing RRE services as well as listening to the voice of the internal customer and developing a roadmap for incorporating customer needs into RRE offerings.

Region Reliability Engineering is the cornerstone of our efforts to enhance efficiency and consistency in operational practices across AWS. This new organization aims to reduce duplicative efforts, refine and accelerate operational excellence, and implement best practices for Amazon Dedicated Cloud Regions, ultimately providing a simpler experience for our customers and AWS Builders.

As a product leader, this role will serve as a vital conduit between customers and deliverable results, transforming feedback into actionable outcomes. They take ownership of defining critical aspects of Region Reliability Engineering initiatives, including problem identification, customer experience optimization, vision development, tenet establishment, and strategic product planning. Working with considerable autonomy and limited oversight, the Product Manager will drive product discussions and decision-making processes to deliver optimal solutions. Their role involves making strategic determinations about whether to develop new solutions, enhance existing ones, or integrate current features to create a more seamless customer experience. They are responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive product roadmap that outlines plans for service improvement and remediation. Additionally, they act as an evangelist for Region Reliability offerings, actively promoting awareness of solutions that could address broader customer needs. Through collaboration with cross-functional teams, they ensure operational practices maintain consistency across AWS while fostering organizational alignment.

The candidate selected must a US Citizen and obtain and maintain a security clearance at the TS/SCI with polygraph level. Upon start, the selected candidate will be sponsored for a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.


Key job responsibilities
1. Distill clear requirements from large and diverse sets of customers, translating complex needs into actionable product plans.
2. Evaluate whether products to be launched meet the intent of the Press Release and Working Backward documents, ensuring alignment with AWS's customer-centric approach.
3. Influence technical priorities and business strategy through data-driven contributions, ensuring business and technology teams are aligned to customer needs.
4. Plan, create, and deliver complex internally-facing technical messaging and content that drives engagement and champions customer needs.
5. Oversee all aspects of the content-creation process and workflow, from writing through editing, technical review, and publishing.
6. Ensure that content aligns with key messaging, plans, and standards established by leadership.
7. Conduct deep dives into customer sentiment to understand their needs and identify opportunities and/or gaps to address concerns.
8. Understand the interdependencies of technical services offered and ascertain the technological, business, and/or infrastructure challenges affecting customers.
9. Help solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks before they become roadblocks.
10. Develop and implement strategies to reduce duplicative efforts and accelerate operational excellence.
