Overview PCONA is seeking a highly motivated Product Manager with a business and technical background to support the growth of its rugged tablet computer category. Reporting to the Senior Category Manager, this role will oversee existing products and support the product development process for upcoming releases. Responsibilities As the subject matter expert, the Product Manager will collaborate with stakeholders to support new product development, as well as go-to-market activities and roadmap planning for the product line, focusing on increasing market share and profitability. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently in a cross-functional environment, effectively influencing key stakeholders to drive sales and category growth. The Product Management role at PCONA is dynamic and multifaceted, requiring a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and cross-functional approach. While accountable for a broad range of responsibilities, the position operates without direct authority, necessitating collaboration across multiple departments, including international teams in Japan and Europe, to achieve objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, a passion for the role, a strong work ethic, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment to accomplish goals. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT: The Product Manager is responsible for driving new product development and planning initiatives to grow the category. This includes collecting and analyzing Voice-of-Customer data, conducting market research, performing cost-benefit analyses, creating product and solution requirement documentation, and developing business cases to ensure strategic alignment with market demands and customer satisfaction. LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT: The Product Manager will also play a key role in promotion planning, marketing communications, lifecycle management, SKU and pricing strategies, inventory management, competitive analysis, product training, and supporting sales and partner initiatives. DATA ANALYTICS: The Product Manager will monitor and report quarterly on market and product analytics, including metrics such as month-over-month category sales, market share, competitive positioning, trend analysis, profitability, and inventory levels. Additionally, they will develop and update business plans to refine go-to-market strategies, aiming to optimize revenue and profitability. SERVICE SKU ADMINISTRATION: Collaborate with the solution sales team to administer, manage, and maintain SKUs while analyzing service programs throughout their lifecycle, including extended warranty, hot spare and swap, and hard drive programs. Partner with business stakeholders to update relevant collateral and ensure effective communication support. Qualifications What You'll Bring: Minimum of 10 years of experience and proven track record of successfully operating within the rugged computing industry's ecosystem and mission-critical environments. A demonstrated and comprehensive understanding of the B2B marketplace, industry partnerships, and competitors. Strong technical background in hardware and software, with the ability to effectively collaborate with engineering and product planning teams to translate complex concepts into actionable product requirements and marketing strategies. Proficiency in mobile operating systems, including Windows 11, Android, and Linux. Extensive experience in market analysis and providing strategic product direction. Demonstrated success in product launches and driving growth within a market segment. Education & Experience: BA/BS in business or a related technical field required. 5 Years or more with a rugged mobility company and experience in Product Management, Sales Engineering, Business Development or a related role. Experience and knowledge of the Product Development process and common practice techniques beneficial. Experience working in or with Japanese culture is highly desirable. Travel for business-related activities is 10~25%. Travel times and schedules are moderately flexible to accommodate business needs and personal commitments. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
