Product Marketing Manager
JOB SCOPE:Key consumer expert and champion for product lines within category segment.  Leads product line design refreshes, develops and executes the annual plan for product lines utilizing market requirements and consumer insights to establish the scope of product offering in terms of price points, features and benefits while aligning with brand strategy.  Lead the development and execution of the 18-month roadmap, utilizing a Stage Gate process from concept through execution.  Identifies and analyzes new opportunities for profitable growth and profit improvements.  The subject matter expert for the product portfolio for sales/customers and engineering.  Supports development of category Long Range Plan. RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Planning and DevelopmentPartner with Marketing Research to:Perform market and trend research, determine market potential, identify consumer insight needs or trends to develop consumer-specific marketing plan for the product line/brandIdentify consumer insights, trends and opportunities that lead to growth. Transform these findings into actionable insights to inform positioning and/or marketing strategiesLead category new product development utilizing the Stage Gate Process to bring meaningful innovation to the product line.Conduct data analytics, gap analyses and competitive and consumer insights research and leverage into profitable growth strategies and plansProactively grow and optimize performance of assigned product(s) to deliver against department P&L. Proactively adjust campaigns, activities and priorities as appropriate to ensure P&L plan is met.Consumer and Product MarketingEstablish product requirements, specifications and standardsManage full product lifecycle and roadmap, including conceptualization and research, competitive analysis, pricing, product design, packaging and graphics communicationsParticipate in product line reviews as requested by channel partnersDevelop product, packaging strategy, design briefs, graphic creative briefs and pricing strategies for assigned product line(s)Develop and execute category marketing plan for the product line/brandDevelop value propositions, positioning and messaging for a group of products and associated marketing campaignsActively explore and seek design trend reports and leverage insights into strategic roadmapsEnsure all marketing activities are consistent with brand equity strategy established by Category DirectorsIdentify and execute sku rationalization efforts to maximize inventory performance and in support of targeted vitality index for product category.Cross-functional CollaborationAlign with Sales on strategic prioritiesWork with Procurement, Masco Asia, Graphics, Engineering, Design, Digital, Market Research, Customer Marketing, Finance, Legal and Project Management to execute against project plansShare best practices with colleagues across categories and product lines to achieve consistent processes and ensure use of best practicesWork with supply chain on developing the supply chain roadmapDemonstrate a Continuous Improvement mindset, through participation in events and activities that lead to financial gain, time savings, and/or waste reduction for the business.People ManagementSolicit feedback from internal customers and provide feedback to direct reportsProvide on-boarding, coaching and training to junior staff as needed QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree, Business or Marketing4-7 years business or marketing experienceExperience working in a channel or product marketing role with P&L responsibilitiesExperience managing consumer goods or building products preferred
