Product Marketing Manager

Job Summary 

As part of the of Product Marketing team, the Product Manager leads their branded business in developing the strategy along with all the activities in managing the product line/category with the end user. This includes both new product development and product stewardship. The Product Manager leads their categories by working closely with R&D to maintain product quality and differentiation, developing Roadmap strategies, monitoring competitive activity, and coordinating with market research to conduct surveys, benchmarking studies, ethnography, new product concept testing, etc. Additionally, the product manager must monitor the profitability of their businesses. This includes, but not limited to, producing dashboards and other analytics / charts to understand trends and performance. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Develop annual brand/business strategic roadmap plans for respective product lines 

Lead and or actively participate in product development teams in order to drive new products to market via a stage gate development process 

Initiate new research as well as analyze existing research for new product development, product benchmarking and end user insights 

Partner with Marketing Shared Services on commercialization efforts and launch plans including items such as packaging, social, digital / landing pages, and other marketing activities to generate end user demand for key product lines 

Maintain superior product quality and execute remedies for product performance issues in working closely with Customer Care, R&D, Color Lab and Quality 

Monitor and analyze the competitive product landscape to also include material changes in competitive companies’ strategy and core capabilities 

Assist in planning for customer line reviews and category business reviews 

Brief business unit leadership and Behr Executive team on category / product topics 

 

Qualifications and Experience 

A holistic and strategic mindset that can partner effectively with cross-functional teams including sales, channel marketing, supply chain, R&D, finance, brands, graphics and more 

Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience; prefer 2 yrs of experience 

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities 

Ability to clearly and concisely communicate (orally/written) anchored in business process and project management fundamentals  

An analytical and data-driven mindset when making decisions · Excellent attention to detail  

Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multi-task  

High energy and intellectual curiosity to become an industry expert and the willingness to develop cross-functional knowledge beyond just the marketing function 

  

Special Requirements 

May be occasionally required to travel out of state to attend meetings, functions and professional development seminars
