Overview of job
This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic, data-driven product owner to develop our portfolio of Global Player products.
Global Player allows listeners to enjoy all of Global’s radio brands, award-winning podcasts, and expertly curated playlists, in one place in app, on web, on TV, in car and on smart speakers.
You’ll work with your own cross-functional squad to maintain and build upon existing services in the portfolio as well as deliver new features and functionality to support the business in achieving its ambitious goals. You’ll sit alongside a team of product owners responsible for different areas of the wider digital portfolio.

In the first few months, you would have
Taken ownership of, and aligned, your team’s goals ensuring delivery against them
Established a roadmap for the upcoming quarter
Released features across your suite of products
Worked closely with stakeholders across the business to understand priorities and provide updates
Responsibilities of the role
The Product Owner will be responsible for the following areas across our digital products
Strategic
Develop product strategy
Own the product roadmap for your area of development and communicate priorities based on business requirements
Establish success metrics
Gain a deep knowledge of your products and represent them with the wider business
Communicate the business case behind features / functionality
Conduct gap analysis and competitive reviews where appropriate
Own product launches
Delivery
Work closely with the wider team to define and refine the product offering
Own the product requirements within sprint and communicate the vision clearly to the team
Own the product backlog and prioritisation and ensure the business needs are satisfied
Day-to-Day
An integral part of the Agile process - run refinement and planning sessions, presenting the product goal and a potential sprint goal, attend retrospective meetings and write user stories
Write clear requirements including detailed acceptance criteria
Work hand in hand with developers to ensure requirements are being translated into high-quality, working products
Ensure that releases are thoroughly tested and monitor results carefully
Provide regular reports and updates to the business to show performance against objectives
Work closely with commercial teams to ensure that products are monetised effectively and in line with strategic goals
Be the voice of the user by sharing feedback to internal teams
Work closely with analytics , interpreting data in order to improve products
Adhere to industry best practices
Support the wider product team and input in other areas of the digital portfolio
What you will need
The ideal candidate will be proactive and keen to challenge themselves, developing and implement innovative solutions, they should also have:
3+ Years as a product owner in a fast-paced business
Experience working in SCRUM/Agile environments
Experience working with and influencing key business and technology stakeholders
The ability to think strategically and execute methodically, having lots of fun doing it
Be comfortable working at pace and managing competing and changing priorities
