The focus of the role is to be the dedicated point person for Claims and is responsible for defining the product vision, managing the development, and optimising for customer needs.
This is a “hands-on” role that requires excellent organizational and time management skills, an ability to manage competing priorities across geographically dispersed teams, creative problem solving and resourcefulness to overcome challenges, and superior communication skills to manage key delivery risks and keep stakeholders informed of progress.
The PO will represent the business stakeholders and be responsible for the end-to-end Agile product management, digital transformation, process modelling & solution design. This will require planning and managing the development of the platform, managing backlog items, driving clarity of user stories, and ensuring solutions meet the requirements of both internal and external users.
Specific duties/responsibilities are detailed in the individual’s performance plan, based on the following key performance goals:
Understand and represent the business unit to define and prioritise product features to achieve business and customer needs. Provide OKRs, Product vision and roadmap for the platform, strategizing and presenting ideas to stakeholders. Work closely with business teams to create, maintain and prioritise product backlog to ensure that the highest-value backlog items are delivered in the shortest sustainable lead time and in the right sequence. Work with Business Analysts to ensure business requirements from users and stakeholders are captured accurately to the right level of detail. Drive the clarity, review and approval of user stories for the product development team(s). Provide business logic recommendations and solutions aligned with business objectives. Assist the product development team to meet the objectives of each sprint. Collaborate with Technical Lead and Architects to craft enablers and arrive at right solution. Review developed user stories to ensure they adhere to quality standards and stakeholder’s/end user’s acceptance criteria. Provide on-site support and management of User Acceptance Testing. Adjusting and improving each iteration of the product before release. Identifying areas of improvement. Keeping customers and stakeholders informed of the status of the product. Escalate any issues/risks as required to the Exec Sponsor and/or Program Manager. Comply with company reporting and audit needs (local and international requirements)Skills & Experience:
Insurance product experience and knowledge of the general insurance business model, broker platforms and underwriting/claims operations. Experience as part of an Agile delivery team (Exposure to underwriting systems, claims systems, and broking systems will be an advantage). Experience and ease in working with senior decision makers, and all levels of the organization, across functions. Knowledge of user-centred design principles. Previous working experience as a Product Owner. Knowledge of Agile methodologies. SAFe PO/ PM or CSPO certification preferred. Process orientated, an organiser with strong planning ability and attention to detail.Desirable:
Prior experience in claims/digital claims transformation would be a plus Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills, written and verbal. Strong presentation skills. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure. Change Management experience is a plus. Systems and business architecture knowledge is a plus. Ability to take minimal direction and work independently with high precision/quality of output. Degree qualified in business management or a related discipline and qualification in technology. Experience working with teams across multiple countries.
