Product Owner

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions is part of the ASSA ABLOY Group, who are the global leader in access solutions. Every day, we reimagine how people move through a safer, more open world with ease. If you’ve ever walked through an automatic door, stayed in a hotel, or gone through passport control, you’ve probably used one of our products or services. We have operations in over 70 countries, with over 52,000 colleagues around the world.

Our expertise in customer journey mapping, innovation, and service design leads to the invention of new solutions that create value for our clients and exceptional experiences for their end users. And we have the fantastic opportunity available in Key and Asset Management (KAM) for a Product Owner.

Part of Global Solutions, Key and Asset Management provides solutions that deliver secure, managed access to keys and equipment at the right time and place. Our solutions drive efficiency by removing the need for manual processes and record keeping. Good key and equipment management is fundamental to assure the best customer service, safety, compliance, and workplace productivity.

Your Role in Keeping the Future in Safe Hands…

As a Product Owner for the Global solutions division of ASSA ABLOY, you will continually improve the Product Owner practice within KAM to ensure that we are properly representing Voice of the Customer while supporting the development teams. You will also be hands on with key projects, working closely with Product Managers and other key stakeholders to capture Voice of Customer input around functional, non-functional, and user experience requirements.

Reporting to a KAM Product Manager, you will translate this feedback into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria in a clear and consistent way that is readily digestible by the R&D team. In addition, you will help the R&D team understand the wider business context and value associated to functions and features they are working on to ensure that the product delivers the functionality, experience and value required by our customers.

What you will do…

Act as Voice of Customer internally, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to discover and analyze customer needs and shape them into hardware and software requirements. Work closely with the Product Managers and the R&D team to translate these into appropriately detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria and non-functional user experience expectations. Proactively manage the Product Backlog to ensure that upcoming development priorities are suitably fleshed out with the necessary stories ahead of time so that they can be easily scoped and sized to enable early and accurate scheduling into the roadmap for communication out to the wider business. Acquire and maintain a fundamental working knowledge of how our solutions are used in the real world to ensure features, functions and products are delivered with a consistent, user-friendly user experience. Engage with stakeholders during development to demonstrate new functionality, gather feedback and expectations regarding existing, new and future developments. Participate in and occasionally lead the User Acceptance Testing of new functionality and achieve sign-off from key stakeholders and customers. Be the primary liaison between stakeholders and the R&D team, ensuring buy-in from stakeholders on major decisions, managing concerns and proactively communicating deviations from the plan. Work with the R&D team and Product Managers to create practical solutions to issues that help us meet customer expectations with minimal impact on delivery. Act as an ambassador for our products and solutions to assist the regions and our distributors with queries.
