Turner Industries Group is looking for a Product Owner to join our Information Technology group. This is a leadership position involved in the development of custom software products which support the primary business functions of Turner Industries Group. The Product Owner conveys a product's business goals, vision, and strategy to the development team. The Product Owner maximizes the business value provided by this team and drives product direction by maintaining and prioritizing a backlog of features. The Product Owner skillfully guides the team to developing a product that meets the current and future needs of business by tactfully working with users, performing requirements gathering, building product roadmaps, storyboarding, researching, testing, and training. The Product Owner is also responsible for visibility and transparency of a project through constant collaborative communication with business stakeholders, team members, and IT management.\n

TYPICAL DUTIES\n\nBe comfortable as a product's primary stakeholder.\nDiplomatically represent the business, the team, and IT management.\nDevelop a product's vision to determine its direction. Convey that vision to the team.\nDevelop a solid understanding of the users, the business, and the competitive advantage brought from developing the product.\nBuild, prioritize, and maintain a feature backlog detailing the product's requirements.\nRefine high level features into individual user\/job stories with acceptance criteria.\nEnsure development team has enough refined features to pull in to each sprint.\nPromote a working relationship where stakeholders define their business cases and the development team determines how to best implement those cases.\nCreate business models, dictionaries, roadmaps, storyboards, and estimates for the product.\nDetermine MVP (Minimum Viable Product) and MMF (Minimum Marketable Feature) of the product.\nProvide estimates, risk analysis, project status updates, and guidance to the business, the team, and IT management.\nPromote visibility of the product. Put on display artifacts which promote transparency.\nBe available to the business, the team, and stakeholders for regular face-to-face discussions of the product.\n\n

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE\n

Education: Degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or a business centric field paired with industrial construction job experience.\n

Experience: 5+ years as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, QA Analyst, Scrum team member, IT Trainer, Product Development or closely related field.\n

Qualifications: Performs a variety of tasks under little supervision and must be willing to lead on a project team. Primary job functions require a high degree of creativity, latitude, and organization. Demonstrated skill at estimation, project management, leadership, negotiation, collaborative team efforts, as well as critical and strategic thinking. Relies on own judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Exhibits good communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills. A positive attitude, open mind, empathy for stakeholders, and willingness to learn is essential. Familiar with Agile\/Scrum processes and principles.\n
