Product Owner

Position Summary
Thales is looking for a Product Owner leads the design and implementation for Software squads within our Aviation Global Services (AGS) product suite, responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring and delivering software projects within the PPS team. As our Product owner, you are accountable for the development, testing and deployment of software features as well as supporting and maintaining existing products in operation.
You will be an individual contributor in a highly visible role, requiring you to deliver high quality, high impact products for the Aviation Global Services organization.
In this position, you will also work alongside a talented group of engineers (Development Squad) to identify and prioritize features and functionality in the Digital Products and Services domain. The PO plays a pivotal role in the Integrated Product team and is responsible for all aspects of the product delivery and operations with the Squad Lead and the SW Architect.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Own the full life cycle of the assigned products, including new features development, issue fixing, product and users support; Lead technically and organize a DevSecOps Squad, including task planning and software design reviews; Priorities SW development activity based on business requirement and needs; Accountable for squad supporting, updating and maintaining products in production environment.Propose and challenge existing SW architecture solutions; Lead and influence the technical solution selection and implementation; Able to influence internal and external stake holders; Accountable for the overall planning, execution, and success of technical projects, by utilizing and working with multiple global teams.Track issues, mitigate risks and provide action plans; Develop estimates and determine estimates to complete for project scope; Ensure consistency of development activity and deliverables from internal and external resources.Gather and leverage stakeholder feedback to define product requirements and responsible for making critical decisions to define a prioritized roadmap for the team.Work closely with the Dev Squad engineers and breakdown problems into simplifies tasks to remove functional complexity to the teams.Define the business metrics and KPI’s for your team and measure how these improve over time.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with a minimum of 8-12+ years of relevant work experience or Master’s degree in field with 6+ years of relevant work experience.8 years of total work experience managing and leading software projects including coordination with organizations outside software. This position requires both technical leadership skills and the ability to manage assigned project resources.2 years of experience leading SW development teams of 8+ members; 3 years of hands on experience as a software developer, software testing or software architect and very good knowledge of CI/CD pipeline, trunk based development, Kubernetes clusters.Track record in developing highly effective analytics products; Strong experience in creating and managing detailed software schedules and tracking progress; Hands on experience as a software developer, software testing or software architect (5 years). Expert in cloud based development; Very good knowledge of Linux and Android systems; Very good knowledge of all phases of software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, technical design, implementation, code review, testing and release; Self –motivated, critical thinker with strong technical background.If you’re excited about working with Thales, but not meeting the requirements for this position, we encourage you to join our Talent Community!
Special Position Requirements
Schedule: Core Business Hours, Monday-Friday. May be eligible for 9/80 or hybrid work. May be required to work outside core business hours/weekends in order to meet deadlines.Physical Environment: Typical office environment.Travel: Ability to travel 20% of the time to attend external and internal events.Regulatory Compliance Requirements: None.What We Offer
The anticipated TTC range for this role is $152,772.30 - $198,093.60 USD Annual. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
