Product Safety Engineer

As a member of the Product Safety team, you provide expert advice on all safety-related matters. You effectively balance the business needs while prioritizing product safety. Your direct supervisor will be the Head of Product Safety at Siemens Energy.** **How You’ll Make an Impact** + **Function as an interface partner and act as mediator between the technical teams to ensure the development and project execution of safe products.** + **Participate in internal/external working groups and committees to actively craft the landscape of standards and regulations for product and functional safety.** + **Represent Siemens Energy's safety and product compliance philosophy to customers, supporting various organizations with safety-related inquiries.** + **Adopt global technical responsibility within your subject area, such as participating in gate decisions, project evaluations, and/or audits.** + **Review Procedures and Philosophies with Component/Technology Owners.** + **Consult for the organization, helping to develop technical solutions in compliance with regulatory requirements and customer needs.** + **Support the Head of Product Safety to develop and implement a strategy for continuously improving product safety.** **What You Bring** + **BS/BA in engineering is required. Must have at least 10 years of experience in Product Safety, with deep expertise in Safety Standards and Regulations.** + **Experience in general maintenance of large gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and associated equipment is a must.** + **Expert in risk evaluation and risk management methods and extensive knowledge in adjacent fields to Functional and Product Safety, such as Operations, Process Technology, and Plant Concepts.** + **You are the go-to person as a technical advisor with a willingness and excellent abilities to collaborate across teams in order to develop innovative solutions.** + **Passion for detail and flawless implementation of solutions.** + **You actively collaborate and exchange knowledge with other authorities in your community as well as selected contacts in other communities.** + **Required to travel up to 25%.** **Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
