We are currently seeking a Canada Product Sales Manager to join our Boart Longyear team. This position is based in Mississauga, On, or North Bay, On.

The company is looking for hands-on, commercially focused individual with a proven track record in a professional B2B business environment. Serving applications such as construction, mining, heavy equipment, or related industries. The Product Sales Manager will have responsibility for product sales, sales and technical team management, pricing, and forecasting for the Products business across Canada.  Revenue and margin responsibility for all commercial activities and budgets.Managing and developing the team adopting a rigorous performance management approach, and maintaining a safety culture.Acting as a 'playing team captain' and being actively involved in client-relationships (both relationship management and new business development).Stimulating and coordinating new business development activities, defining new product-market-combinations, identifying new customers and segments, improving “proactive” account development planning and execution, promoting innovation in line with the company’s strategy and profile, investigating the potential of additional channel partners and alliances, etc.Ensuring a high level of client satisfaction, based on top quality, planning and communication with the customer, and timely delivery.  This means deep understanding of customers’ needs and be a trusted advisor, driving client-oriented culture within the total team.Identify and participate in marketing and promotional activities by working with the Marketing team and Product Management on trade shows, advertising, customer presentations and other promotional activities.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in construction, civil, or mining engineering  or other degrees coupled with relevant industrial sales management experience; an MBA is a significant plus.At least 7+ years’ experience in relevant sales and management roles, preferably with experience in both direct sales and indirect sales (distribution management) in both mature products and new technology introductions.Experience in multinational companies with matrix organizational structures a plusBilingual in French and English is a significate plusExperience in Drilling, Mining, Construction, industrial products, or Heavy Equipment Sales.Financial acumen, Controls expenditure levels within the Domestic Sales area in line with budgetsCompetenciesA hands-on, results and deal oriented professional with a structured and pragmatic approach.  Must be able to proactively identify issues, set goals and execute on schedule, prioritizing activities by profit potentialCritical thinking ability, breaking down complex problems and developing innovative and valuable solutionsDecisiveness, not risk-avoiding, and a “street-wise,” entrepreneurial negotiator and dealmaker.A cost-conscious attitude and a strong bottom-line focusCreative and innovative, with a focus on the ongoing improvement of business performance coupled with a desire to ‘go the extra mile’ for the customerLeadership ability, driving the company values through the organization and acting as a role model and mentor for the teamDrive, and a “winner’s mentality”, combined with a genuine interest in people.Must be authorized to work in CanadaMust have valid Driver’s License
