The Position

What is a T&E Product Sales Specialist (PSS)?

At Advance Auto Parts, a T&E PSS sells or oversees the selling of automotive tool & equipment products for repair or distribution to automotive repair shops and other commercial businesses. This position will require consistent travel within the Mid-Atlantic territory - the ideal candidate must reside near a major airport.

The T&E PSS will serve as a sales consultant and subject matter expert for our enterprise professional customers and regional professional sales teams in Advance Professional and Carquest.The T&E PSS works with the inside & outside enterprise sales teams building strong relationships while assisting with all aspects of the T&E program. Together, the T&E PSS and the regional professional sales teams will analyze, diagnose, develop T&E growth strategies that will drive increases in topline sales and margin.The T&E PSS develops our value proposition to create added growth as an Automotive Business Solution, which will serve to retain and grow existing customer business and gain share from competitively held accounts.The T&E PSS must be committed to inspiring our team, helping our customers succeed, and growing the business and profitability with integrity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Work with CAMs, CSMs and VPP’s as well as other key personnel to achieve all agreed upon goals for assigned accountsTravel with overnights 80% of the yearImplement new Commercial T&E Sales programs, as well as support current programsVisit accounts, make sales calls and develop approaches that best position products, services, or ideas; identify and meet the needs of commercial customers. Partner with enterprise sales and operations teams to develop sales plans that meet or exceed goals for all solutions.Using a consultative sales process, actively promote sales of Advance Professional Solutions and programs that are relevant to the needs of the region.Develop and manage the solutions/programs sales funnel with the regional sales teams.Actively support the regional sales team selling process by accompanying them on prospecting, discovery, presentation, and closing sales calls and program enrollments.Closely monitor program retention and work with regional Professional Sales and Operations teams to maximize retention of quality professional Customers in Regional Markets.Partner with regional teams to position our SOLUTIONS in T&E to be successful in both existing and new markets across each region of the enterprise of Advance Professional Company stores, CARQUEST Independent stores.Measure, track, and forecast total performance to KPIs, including financial and scheduling objectives, act on course correction actions accordingly. Present regular status reports to the Regional Team. Provide feedback and input to business partners regarding competitive information, merchandising suggestions, and other services to strengthen the market position of the companyDemonstrate an eagerness to be a team player and assist in other functions as assigned by region leaders and as needed.Attend and support internal and external sales and trade eventsDeliver CAM playbook to all newly onboarded CAMS within 90 days

Working knowledge of Advance products and services and the ability to market those products and services to meet customer needWorking knowledge of automotive systems and traditional automotive aftermarketSpeak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and upper managementStrong presentation and verbal and written communications skills, including ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedural manualsCalculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, sales increases, and gross profit percentAbility to review and analyze business reportsThink strategically, analyze issues and options, and effectively manage and facilitate changeAbility to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as neededCandidates should have a current working knowledge of the automotive industry specifically in the automotive tool and equipment side of the business.Qualified candidates must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative team environment and a drive to succeed. Candidates should have a current working knowledge of the automotive industry in general and specific aftermarket competitors (NAPA, O’Reilly Auto Zone, IMC, SSF, etc.).Customer Service experience.Adapt positively to a changing environmentAbility to close a sale and overcome common objections.Ability to apply analytical selling skills to identify sales and growth opportunities.Able to work independently and with minimal supervisionWillingness to work cooperatively across all departments to provide the enterprise customers with the best possible experience.

Prior Experiences that Set a PSS up for Success

Proven sales track record with 3-5 years related selling experience.Candidates must possess working knowledge of automotive diagnostics tools & shop equipment. Experience in ADAS, EV, ECU Programming & Key Programming is a plus.

High School diploma or general education degree (GED)Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have a valid driver's license and be fleet safety certified.ASE certification preferred, but not required
