About the Role

The Product Specialist is a product and market person who assists the Global Product Management team in managing all aspects of the product life cycle process for the JBL Professional commercial loudspeaker product portfolio.

They will contribute to developing portfolio strategies in line with the long-term strategic vision for this segment and have an in-depth working technical knowledge of these products and their application.  This person is expected to conduct market research, generate product specifications and pricing, create business plans, and provide technical and logistical support for a commercial and installation loudspeaker product portfolio. They will need to be able to assist, lead, and liaise (as required) with other internal teams including Sales, R&D, Customer Service, Applications Support, Marketing, and Management teams, as well as with staff located in other regions of the world and external customers. 


What You Will Do

Assists the lead Product Manager in championing products from concept through development, launch, promotion, mid-life, and EOL, working closely with other stakeholders including engineering, project team, application specialists, and marketing.  Participates in cross-functional project management teams with the lead Product Manager for the professional installed loudspeaker market, including availability for periodic evening conference calls with team members located in the global regions. Assists the lead Product Manager, with developing a Marketing Communication strategy to gain product market share.  Assist with technical training and product support to sales staff, application specialists, customer service, and others. Provide product marketing support for promotions, trade shows, and sales events.Assists in setting up customer demonstrations and internal listening sessions.  Travels up to 15% of the time, domestic and international.

What You Need

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical area such as electronics or marketing is desirable.Minimum 4 years of experience in product management, marketing, or relevant technical fieldThe role requires desire to extend knowledge and gain extensive experience in product management.Beginning level of knowledge of the professional commercial and installation loudspeaker products market and commercial audio system applications.To complete the demands of the role, this person must:Have experience writing detailed and sound business plans and product specifications.Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to vary their personal style to different audiences including sales and marketing team members, R&D project teams, and end-users.Excellent presentation communication skills for internal and external events.Physical Demands – Must occasionally lift/move up to 40 lbs. 

What is Nice to Have

AutoCAD and EASE/DDA skills are a plus.  Will need to be able to learn SAP/R3

Salary Ranges:

USD 83,250 - USD 122,100
