Product Support Engineer

Pertemps Bristol Industrial are currently recruiting for a Product Support Engineer for one our our clients based in Chippenham.
The role is for an engineer with a mechanical bias, who is flexible enough to work in the varied role of product support engineer.
Job Role:
One minute you may be modelling on 3D CAD, the next you may be troubleshooting a problem in production.Creating new parts on their Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.Amending an older drawing to meet modern requirements.Due to the long service life of their products, a simple drawing change may require you to use a 3D CAD package, 2D CAD package or even M.S. paint in some cases.Resolving issues on the shop floorComplete competent technical document after resolving issuesAttending meetings with senior managers.
Requirements:
Qualified to at least HNC in a mechanical engineering disciplineP.C literateM.S. office applications to a good standardSome hands on mechanical experience is preferredAttention to detail is essentialPrevious experience of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools is important3D CAD to a competent level, Solidworks preferred but other CAD systems considered. Some use of 2D CAD would be desirable.Ability to draft technical documents and reports to a good standardCan react to changing workloads and prioritiesGood communication skills are a must as you will be expected to talk to different departments at different levels.
