**About the Role:**
This position is crucial in developing, leading, and executing Carrier’s sustainability data reporting strategy, along with the internal controls over Scope-3.11 & scope 3.12 GHG emissions reporting. It ensures that the product sustainability data disclosures comply with leading reporting standards, frameworks, and regulatory requirements such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), and California climate disclosure law. Additionally, this role involves collaborating with the Carrier’s Corporate Sustainability team to maintain the integrity of publicly disclosed sustainability data.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Oversee Scope-3 carbon accounting operations, develop processes, and apply controls to ensure data integrity, guide strategic decisions, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
+ Provide guidance on complex carbon accounting and reporting matters, ensuring adherence to regulations.
+ Collaborate with cross function teams to create or improve the carbon accounting framework complying with the regulations.
+ Stay updated on latest ESG regulations, industry trends, and reporting frameworks. Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior leadership on evolving issues and best practices related to ESG data assurance and reporting.
+ Develop timelines for ESG (scope-3 category-11 & Scope 3 category-12) data reporting, ensuring project management meets external reporting deadlines while driving continuous improvement in ESG data reporting processes, systems, and data management.
+ Establish the necessary structure for third-party assurance of Carrier Scope-3 emissions data and coordinate with the third party during the assurance process.
+ Support strategic sustainability initiatives, including setting GHG emissions reduction targets, implementing emission reduction strategies, and evaluating the effectiveness of sustainability programs.
**Required Skills:**
+ 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years’ experience in a public accounting firm and 2+ years’ experience working with ESG reporting.
+ Knowledge about sustainability reporting regulations including Europe’s CSRD, the US SEC Climate Disclosure Rule, and California’s SB 253 and SB 261, GRI, SASB, TCFD etc.
+ Be able to influence while collaborating with various stake holders in large corporations. Analyzed complicated issues, distilling them into key points, developed action plans, and implemented strategic goals.
+ Analyzed and translated internal control requirements into actionable information for communication to operating management.
+ A working knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, ESG regulations, reporting frameworks/strategies, SEC rules/regulations and SOX controls.
+ Ability to work well in a cross-functional, matrixed organization with a strong with understanding of a multinational organization with multiple departments.
**Qualifications:**
Requires advanced to expert knowledge obtained through advanced education, combined with experience. Substantial knowledge of Carrier organization, programs, or systems to make enhancements within job area University Degree or equivalent.
A minimum of 7 years prior relevant experience OR An advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience
