Assist the Category Managers in many areas of product line and sku maintenance. Responsible for loading and processing the system sku maintenance changes from suppliers and Category Managers. Assist and support other departments, stores, and distribution centers on all inventory system maintenance related questions/issues.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Load all required information for new items in the Company’s item master(s). This includes part number formatting, item descriptions, unit of measure, dimensions, restrictions, customs, cost based on unit of measure, etc.
Ensure all part number information in the system is up to date and accurate.
Load all new item dimensions and weights for the WMS DCs while updating existing item dimensions when provided by the supplier.
Determine and apply corrections as necessary to quality assurance product issues reported by our stores and distribution centers. This includes initiation of system recalls, item master changes, catalog corrections, tracking all product alerts to ensure appropriate completion in a timely manner and more.
Maintain and oversee a portion of the discontinued or removal request process for items submitted by Category Managers and suppliers.
Monitor label and UPC issues at the store and DC level and generate an invoice to bill the supplier for the appropriate labor expenses if an error is found. Provide the Category Manager with documentation of repeat offenders and indicate what action was taken.
Monitor and prepare label projects for Inventory Control and ensure accurate label information is communicated to the distribution centers.
Serves as a backup for other Product Technicians on the team if they are out of office or require assistance in completing tasks.
Request, pick up, deliver, and return product samples from the Springfield distribution center as requested by Merchandise Category Managers, Directors, VPs and SVP.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly tasks on the cadence and frequency assigned.
Assist the Inventory Maintenance Manager on additional projects as needed.
Periodically visit the Springfield distribution center and/or local stores to review product concerns received by stores, other distribution centers, corporate team members, or suppliers. Perform reviews as needed and with approval from Inventory Maintenance Manager.
All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES
Required:High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
1+ years’ experience working in a corporate or other comparable setting
Ability to effectively interface with technical and non-technical staff at all organizational levels
Excellent at detailed work with above average skills in areas of written and verbal communication
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and apply multi-tasking skills as priorities shift
Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong data entry skills
Punctual and reliable with an emphasis on accountability
Must be a self-starter with the ability to motivate a team
Desired:Minimum of 1-2 years of retail experience
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Excel query functions
