Production Assembler - Swing Shift

Milgard Windows and Doors is a leading manufacturer of high-quality windows and doors, known for innovation, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Assembler to join our team in the Fiberglass Windows Department. This role is crucial in the assembly and fabrication of our durable and energy-efficient fiberglass window line, ensuring top-tier quality and efficient production.

You will work Monday through Friday starting at 3:30 p.m. The hourly compensation starts at $22.00, plus a $2.00 shift differential for working the swing shift.

The Production Assembler in the Fiberglass Windows Department is responsible for the precise and efficient assembly of fiberglass window components, following established procedures and quality control standards. This involves working with specialized materials, tools, and equipment specific to fiberglass window construction to create finished products that meet our exact specifications.

Assemble fiberglass window components, including frames, sashes, glass, hardware, and weather stripping, according to work orders and blueprints. Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively, including drills, saws, screwdrivers, pneumatic tools, and potentially specialized fiberglass cutting or joining equipment (specify if applicable). Inspect components for defects and ensure they meet quality standards before assembly, paying close attention to the unique characteristics of fiberglass materials. Perform quality checks on finished products to verify proper assembly, functionality, and sealing. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols and procedures, particularly those related to handling fiberglass materials (e.g., proper ventilation, protective equipment). Accurately record production data, including quantities assembled and any issues encountered. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production targets. Proactively identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and quality related to fiberglass window manufacturing. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in manufacturing or assembly is a plus. We are willing to train the right candidate. Experience with fiberglass materials or construction is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and assembly instructions. Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship, especially concerning the precision required for fiberglass window assembly. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift and carry up to [Insert Weight] lbs. and stand for extended periods. May require specific physical demands related to fiberglass handling (e.g., wearing protective gear). Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
