PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
A. To assist the Operator and Assistant Operator in the setup & operate, when necessary, any piece of equipment to run a corrugated box to meet customer specifications.
SAFETY PROCEDURES:
A. Read and understand SAFETY RULES & HOUSEKEEPING GUIDELINES and receive training in proper operating procedures.
B. Receive instructions in the following.
1. Lockout procedures
2. Hearing protection
3. Safety shoes
4. Moving machinery
5. All stop buttons
6. All nip points
7. Conveyor safety
8. Lifting and pushing/pulling
9. Safety guards, gates & chains
HOUSEKEEPING:
A. Perform daily cleanup of area
B. Dump trash as needed
C. Perform extra clan up during downtime
D. Follow cleaning schedule listed in Safety Manual
E. Keep scrap picked up
MANUFACTURING PROCESS:
A. Read & use Factory Order & Print Card to determine proper equipment settings
B. Ability to know if equipment is operating properly
C. Ability to:
1. Set stacker
2. Install dies, attachments & printing plates
3. Set pull rolls, collars & straps
4. Set scores, heads & blade combinations
5. Set Prefeeder & Lead Edge Feeder
6. Check stock for correct size
7. Adjust equipment for proper pressures & register
8. Operate glue and ink systems
9. Set folding rails, squaring section & ejector
EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
A. Flexo Folder Gluer equipment
B. Computer input terminal
C. Quality test equipment
QUALITY:
A. Perform the following quality checks:
1. 1st piece dimensional checks
2. 1st piece print quality checks
3. Random checks during run for dimensions & print
4. Ink color & viscosity
5. 1st piece visual check - fold box complete
B. If major problem- shut machine down & notify supervisor
COMMUNICATION:
A. Push interrupt buttons
B. Verbal
C. Hand signals
EDUCATIONAL TRAINING:
A. Ability to read and do basic math
B. Ability to read a tape measure
