Production Associate

**Production $20/21 Hour**
**Job Description**
As a Utility worker, you will be responsible for the movement of materials within the plant including flake, pellet, or bales. You will document incoming and outgoing products, use pallet jacks and lifts to move products, and monitor production using computer-based systems. Additionally, you will be involved in rail car loading and unloading, perform quality checks, cross-train throughout the facility, and use mechanical abilities as needed.
**Responsibilities**
+ Move materials within the plant including flake, pellet, or bales.
+ Document incoming and outgoing products on the floor.
+ Use pallet jacks and lifts to move products around.
+ Monitor, document, and track production using computer-based systems.
+ Load and unload rail cars as needed.
+ Walk up and down stairs around machinery to ensure machine accuracy (up to 40 feet in the air).
+ Perform quality checks on production lines including obtaining numbers and temperature readings.
+ Participate in cross-training throughout the facility.
+ Utilize mechanical abilities including hand and power tools if required.
+ Undergo fall protection, confined space, and forklift training if showing internal growth potential.
**Essential Skills**
+ Previous forklift usage required (training provided on site once direct).
+ Material handling experience preferred in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
+ Understanding of product flow and shipping/receiving of finished goods.
+ 3+ years job tenure at one company.
+ Proficiency in computer usage including Excel, Word, and emails.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Forklift trained or certified.
+ Experience in material handling.

**Work Environment**
The work environment includes a brand new $49 million expansion adjacent to the existing business, operating a food-grade pellet facility. Workers are hired on a temp-to-hire basis with a 4-month contract. Safety gear such as sleeves and shirts are provided when needed. In the old facility, conditions may be dusty and noisy. Note that there may be a small language barrier with certain leadership, but efforts are being made to address this.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00
