Production Associate

WestRock Lanett Plant has openings for Production Associate.  We are located in the Huguley Industrial Park in Lanett.   Starting pay $18.21/hour.

The Production Associate will:
 •             Remove packed cases from conveyor and place them on pallets  
 •             Apply labels to pallets    
 •             Alert operator to carton defects when found      
  •            Follow all safety rules and procedures and actively participate in the plant safety process 
 •             Meet the highest level of equipment production uptime
 •             Accurately input production data into the system
 •             Actively participate in the preventative maintenance program
 •             Work with and /or cross train as a Feeder Inspector Packer in Finishing
 •             Maintain housekeeping and organization at the area

Requirements for the position:
 •             GED/High School diploma required
 •             Ability to read materials to understand and apply content, such as instruction manuals, procedure manuals or assembly manuals
 •             Ability to write in order to accomplish such tasks as completing forms or communicating simple instructions
 •             Ability to perform basic math such as addition, subtraction, multiplications, and division
 •             Ability to carry out tasks which require a sequence of steps usually performed in a particular order – the problems are routine and easy to recognize
 •             Ability to make decisions that are short-range and usually affect only a small group or work team
 •             Ability to complete tasks as assigned by others with occasional directions
 •             Ability to communicate to explain or interpret well-defined business issues or procedures, following established patterns
 
  Working conditions/PPE
 •             Must wear safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection and other safety gear as required
 •             Continuous standing and walking
 •             Occasional kneeling, crouching, squatting and bending
 •             Frequent heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing and grasping
 •             Continuous use of vision to distinguish depth perception 
 •             Ability to work any shift (night or day)
