Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Production Control Expeditor to join the Data, Power and Control > Power, Access & Control > Server Technology in Reno, NV. Under direction of the Production Control Manager, the Production Control Expeditor will independently support all efforts related to the execution of the daily Production Schedule. The Expeditor is expected to utilize system tools and processes to ensure that the production supply chain is effective in meeting the needs of internal and external customers while maintaining required delivery and inventory goals. The Expeditor has a significant impact on customer service and production activity and therefore must be a creative thinker with sound decision making ability that acts with the customer in mind. The Expeditor will ensure that all assigned duties are performed with the highest quality, quickly, efficiently, and according to the established departmental and company policies, procedures, and goals. The Expeditor, as with all members of the Server Technology Team, is expected to promote a positive work environment, demonstrate initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercise confidentiality.
What Will You Do?
Attend daily Legrand Way (LW) production meetings to effectively exchange information to ensure daily, weekly and monthly metrics and improvement activities are driven to success. Initiate and participate in continuous improvement activities related to production planning, customer service and inventory management. Actively participate in ongoing company cost reduction efforts.Effectively communicate potential production problems to management and assist in the implementation of both short- and long-term solutions using Quick Response Implementation and Issue Tracking Programs.Ensure all materials for special projects (Hot Production Orders, Rework Orders, Conversions) are staged according to priority and well communicated with the Production team. Supports New Product Introduction Review Process under support of Manufacturing Engineering.Participate in cross-training within department to ensure understanding of all Production Control responsibilities.Participate in internal and external audits.Maintain a clean and safe workplace.Display original thinking and creativity; Meet challenges with resourcefulness; Generate suggestions for improving work; Develop innovative approaches and ideas.Display willingness to make decisions; Exhibit sound and accurate judgment; Support and explain reasoning for decisions; Include appropriate people in decision-making process; Make timely decisions.Perform other duties as assigned..
QualificationsRequired Skills
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of related experience within the supply chain function, preferably in planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Ability to handle multiple tasks along with excellent time management skills and customer service skills.Experience with ERP Materials Management and Production Planning tools. SAP preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint), experience with Salesforce.com preferred.Basic understanding of the use of OTD, Quality, Resource Allocation, Routings metrics to drive and support improvement.Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups in the Company including Production, Finance, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales. Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently. Familiarity of ISO 9000 standards and audit process.Desired Competencies:
