Production Design Administrator

We are seeking a skilled digital printing specialist to provide custom digital printing services, including database creation, variable intelligent printing, and workflow coordination. This role involves collaborating with internal and external customers, ensuring seamless production, and using expertise to enhance operations and service quality.

Primary Responsibilities

Ensuring files are print-ready, including proper pagination, ICC profiles, crop marks, bleeds, and quality checks are complete.  Convert files into correct formats for digital output while ensuring they meet print specifications.  Utilize designated software to manipulate customer supplied database files in preparation for digital print services. Use coding skills to create automated processes to merge data and templates for print on demand projects.  Provide leadership to internal and external customers in the proper formatting of supplied data to ensure the most efficient digital print solution.  Meet established quality standards.   Meet productivity requirements assigned by Production Services.  Assist in the development of customer projects.  Understands the basic ISO 9001 concepts and supports actions and solutions for quality issues within the ISO framework. Updates processes and procedures as needed.   Back up digital print operators by learning to run digital print equipment. Communicate effectively with project specialists, designers, clients, and press operators to clarify file requirements and resolve any issue both in person and remotely.  

Required Knowledge, Experience and Skills

Minimum of Associate's Degree in Programming, related field, or equivalent work experience. Working knowledge of database software and lower-level programming.  Previous experience with Digital printing equipment.  Software Proficiency in programs such as Adobe Creative Suite, PitStop, Esko, XEROX VIPP / DesignPro Freeflow, Microsoft Excel, database manipulation software and word processing software. Working knowledge of Pearson Print Services forms, scannable design requirements, specifications and capabilities of Print Service scanners, Print Services manufacturing capabilities and standards. Strong attention to detail is a must: spotting and correcting any flaws in imposition, data programming, and coding. Understanding of Ricoh and Canon digital print system. Understanding of color theory, color spaces, and ICC profiles.  Ability to manage color consistency across various devices and media.  Understanding of file management, folder structures, naming conventions, etc. Problem-Solving Skills: You will be required to diagnose and fix issues that arise during file preparation and/or issues with coding.   Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently, ensuring all files are ready for print in a timely manner.   Desire to continue learning and developing programming skills
