Your New Role….
The Production Designer (Temporary - Fixed Term) position is responsible for creating motion design and animation for CNN television news programming. The Production Designer works with the CNN Design team to concept, design and develop animations under tight deadlines. Proficiency in After Effects and the Adobe suite is required and experience with Cinema 4D and other design and compositing tools is a plus.
Your Role Accountabilities…
Concept, design, and produce a range of still and animated content, from explainers to large format print, as assigned by Production Manager. Able to translate a written script into compelling visual presentation that is engaging, informative and accurate. Performs this work under pressure and within design framework of branding. Demonstrates expert level fundamental design skills across composition, color, typography, photography, video techniques, compositing, editing, and audio. Participates in creative process of visual identity development for CNN programming. Thorough understanding of CNN Design standards, CNN Style and/or Show Identity is appropriately applied and advocated on all projects. Sound editorial thinking applied when producing graphics in support of news content. Encourages these principles in others. Successfully manages time and resources to create a diverse scope of graphics supporting daily news and other network programming. Balances time vs workload to consistently deliver effective results. Actively contribute to overall positive and creative atmosphere of the department Ensure working knowledge of current and new technologies to maintain state-of-the-art look and presentation. Provide input on new equipment purchases.
Your Qualifications & Experiences…
4+ years experience as a design professional. MUST PROVIDE A DEMO REEL/PORTFOLIO OF WORK TO BE CONSIDERED. Degree from accredited art school with emphasis in graphic design or related field (illustration, photography, industrial design, visual communications) or equivalent work experience with demonstrated knowledge of graphic design. Displays outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with other teams under pressure. Embraces working in a diverse, collaborative environment and is willing to train and assist other designers on various levels. Actively contribute to overall positive and creative atmosphere of the department. Expert level at Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc) 3D Skills a plus Mapping, Geography and Cartography knowledge a plus.How We Get Things Done…
