Purpose: Fabricate metal parts at workstations to create small to medium sized assemblies or subassemblies using hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous power tools/machines, equipment with blueprints and route sheets. Paint and or assemble/package units too customer requirements/specifications and rework materials/assemblies when necessary. Fit, align, calibrate and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements.
Essential Functions:
Use hand tools and/or machines to fabricate and/or assemble complex parts in accordance with engineering specifications and procedures.Lifting, carring and standing at workstations. Operate various types of machinery to process materials/assemblies through facility. Inspect parts using quality inspection tools such as calipers, height gages, etc.Complete first piece inspections and non-conformance reports.Test and calibrate parts in accordance with acceptance test procedures.Understand and follow “work instructions” and “routings”.May assist in orienting and training of inexperienced employees.Complies with all DOT, HAZMAT, Donaldson Safety Framework and environmental policies/laws/rules and company codes of conduct/procedures.Uses all designated Personal Protective Equipment as required.While this list is representative of essential job duties, it is not an all-inclusive list of duties required to perform this role. Preferred Qualifications:
Education consisting of a high school diploma/GED.Successful completion of 90-day probationary period at beginning of employment.Ability to inspect assemblies using quality inspection tools.Ability to read/interpret blueprints, routings, and work instructions.Ability to lift/carry assemblies and stand for long periods at workstations.Perform a variety of tasks safely throughout the day in a fast-paced work environment.Interact constructively and effectively with all plant employees while following Donaldson company policies/procedures.Ability to work in a team environment toward a common goal.Reacts to change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned.Maintains a pattern of regular and predictable attendance and available/willing to work on off (non traditional hours) shifts.Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
Welding and/or metal working experience preferred.This posting is to create a pool of applicants for Donaldson Chillicothe, Missouri second shift (3:30pm-2:00am Monday-Thursday) operations. Overtime opportunities available (both voluntary & mandatory). Starting wage is $20.25 hourly during training and will increase to $22.73 (+.50 cents shift differential) after successful completion of 90-day probation. Union membership/dues required per the Chillicothe Business Agreement (contract) provisions after successful completion of probation.
