Job Description
This position will initially involve providing documentation support for new equipment installations and updating project timelines. Additional responsibilities include launching new products for the ECU (electronic control unit) business. This will encompass project management, purchasing, installation, and validation of new equipment. The role requires collaboration with outside vendors and integrators to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. The candidate will work with automated assembly equipment, including robotics and PLCs, and perform floor layouts for new equipment/lines using 2D AutoCAD or Solidworks. A significant portion of the role involves equipment validation, including creating documentation/manuals for team members and maintenance crews.
ResponsibilitiesProvide documentation support for new equipment installations and update project timelines.Launch new products for the ECU business, including project management, purchasing, installation, and validation of new equipment.Collaborate with outside vendors and integrators to ensure projects are on time and within budget.Work with automated assembly equipment, including robotics and PLCs.Perform floor layouts for new equipment/lines using 2D AutoCAD or Solidworks.Create documentation/manuals for equipment to be used by team members and maintenance crews.Support existing production lines, focusing on uptime improvements, designing new fixtures, and some PLC troubleshooting/programming.Support other engineers on the team, including setting up preventive maintenance schedules, creating spare parts lists, and other necessary improvements.Essential SkillsManufacturing engineering experienceProficiency in Solidworks or AutoCADExperience with robotics and process improvementProject management skillsProficiency in Microsoft ExcelKnowledge in electrical, electronics, and electrical engineeringExperience with equipment and PLCsMechanical aptitude (knowledge of motors, equipment, etc.)Additional Skills & QualificationsBS Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or other related fieldProgramming capability (PLC/GLC, C++, etc.)1+ years in equipment validation/installationExperience in project managementWork Environment
The position is based in an electronic manufacturing facility, primarily in a clean-room environment that requires smocks and ESD shoes. The facility is clean, climate-controlled, and is Kentucky's third largest automotive employer. The role requires working cross-functionally with various groups, including Quality, Production, Machine Build, and Design Engineering. The company offers 6 paid holidays and 10 PTO days, which can be used to cover shutdown periods in July and/or December.
