Production Engineer
Production Engineer City Winona State/Province Minnesota Overview:

The Production Engineer works with 24/7 and Core teams to ensure the unit is running to meet production targets and anticipates potential emerging issues.

Responsibilities:

   

Stewardship 

Continuously monitors process, product and equipment to detect and anticipate emerging issuesConducts field walkthroughs for hazard recognition, housekeeping, PSSR, etc.Defines, updates and tracks alarm performance and implements change where neededResponsible for environmental compliance (monitor and escalate)Initiates process safety bypasses and develops mitigation plansMOC system owner and core team leader

Quality 

Engages with unit team and 24/7 Team to identify quality issues with any raw materials and chemicals that need to be addressed with the suppliersParticipates in quality investigations for out-of-spec product or quality driftsDevelops strategy and communicates executable plan for handling out of spec/rejected materialsMonitors product quality parameters and takes action as needed to keep product in specCompletes Raw Material Acceptance Training

Production/Reliability 

Tracks Core performance, losses, RM efficiency and energy usageEngages with 24/7 Team to identify and remove daily execution barriersEstablishes and communicates operating parameters for the 24/7 TeamEnsures supplies and raw materials are ordered and delivered as needed to meet unit objectivesEnsures proper application of RCA process and documents corrective action plansPlans, establishes, and communicates priority for equipment repairsEngages with supply chain to ensure that they are aware of any production schedule challengesCommunicates issues or barriers with production schedule or material containment

Engagement  

Communicates with outside units to share best practicesParticipates in area networking calls for production and safety best practicesSupports 24/7 team as SME by developing tools for operations team to improve performance Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in engineering or related technical field. Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering a plus.Minimum 5 years of engineering work experience preferred.Understands technology of process, product and equipment capacity.Understands production schedule, production capabilities, and reliability requirements.Understands raw material and chemical usages and efficiencies of the unit.Identifies emerging supply issues.Interfaces with supply chain.
