Production Engineer

SoarnoL division is located in La Porte, Texas, and specializes in SoarnoL Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol Copolymer (EVOH). Additional manufacturing facilities for SoarnoL are located in Japan and the United Kingdom. Noltex was formed in June of 1994 and purchased an idled Du Pont EVOH manufacturing facility in La Porte. Noltex began production of SoarnoL resin in early 1996 after retrofitting the first of our plant’s production lines. Our plant primarily serves the needs of the North and South American markets, and supplements product needs in Oceania, Asia, and Europe. With a total annual production capacity of 38,000 metric tons, our EVOH product line includes a wide variety of specialty SoarnoL grades in order to better meet the increased demand for this unique gas barrier resin. Job Purpose We are seeking a Production Engineer to support Mitsubishi's SoarnoL™ EVOH business success by evaluating ideas, engineering solutions, improving plant operations, reducing operating costs and implementing projects in line with business goals. Principal Accountabilities + Oversee and control EVOH production units, including Polymer Manufacturingand Distillation Columns. + Plan & Support Operations in starting up the plant and shutting down the plantfor maintenance and grade changes. + Troubleshoot operating problems to ensure that MCA-SNL continues to meetcustomer requirements and meet business operating and cost goals. + Diagnose production issues (including human error) and implement correctiveactions. + Assess and analyze current production methods and develop processes forimproved productivity and quality. + Continually improve understanding of plant chemistry, operatinglimits/conditions, and mass/energy balances. + Train and supervise Operations personnel on proper methods for operatingprocesses with regard to the overall intention of improved designs. + Document findings in reports for MCA-SNL personnel and management toreview. + On call availability Knowledge / Skills / Experience + Chemical Engineering or Chemistry degree required. + 3 to 7 years plant/engineering experience required. + Experience in the chemical processing industry including distillation and chemical reaction, polymer manufacturing is a plus. + Experience in, and hands on experience in the production and manufacturing process Pay Transparency (complete highlighted sections) + **The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $125,000.
