Sr Production Engineer- Surveillance- Cairo, Egypt.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Engineer with a focus on Surveillance & Waterflood activities in KPC operating areas. The ideal candidate will have expertise in optimizing and managing improved recovery (IR) processes and will be responsible for the surveillance and monitoring of oil and gas production systems. Waterflood surveillance and optimization will be a significant component of the role. Therefore, the preferred candidate should have extensive knowledge of flood pattern analysis, reservoir conformance, wellbore isolation techniques, and production logging. This role requires a strong understanding of reservoir behaviour, production optimization, and the integration of data to maximize recovery while ensuring safe and efficient operations. The individual will be based out of the KPC Cairo head office.
Duties and responsibilities:
Well Surveillance and Waterflood Optimization
• Daily monitoring, evaluation and analysis of production and injection performance.
• Focus on well test priorities for production wells and evaluate test results.
• Track, Identify, and recommend of production adding and water flood optimization opportunities
• Active evaluation of water injection network changes and optimization opportunities.
• Development of production and injection performance forecasts and targets for wells and KPC Areas.
• Engage with Reservoir Engineering and Artificial Lift teams to actively monitor and recommend well performance optimizations.
• Production engineering support for new developments and projects with respect to additional surveillance and measurement requirements.
• Provide resource plans and schedules for waterflood surveillance rigless operations including pressure surveys, production logs, CT clean-out / stimulations, etc.
• Quarterly (minimum) field visits to confirm well measurements and evaluate impact of production and water injection network changes.
Production Optimization / Operational Support:
• Troubleshooting and remediation of well related issues.
• Provide daily production engineering support to production operations team.
• Support procedure development for well operations.
• Develop economic justification for production enhancement opportunities e.g. well interventions, work-overs, facility equipment upgrades, etc.
• Support well integrity management for waterflood related wells WSW & WIW.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
• 8-10 years of experience in Petroleum Engineering related disciplines.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline; preferably chemical, mechanical or petroleum engineering.
• Use advanced software tools (e.g., IPM suite, PipeSim, Artificial Lift Design Software, etc) to simulate the performance and behavior of oil and gas production systems.
• Working knowledge and experience in design and operation of ESP and gas lift systems.
• Strong understanding of reservoir behavior, production systems, and field operations.
• Experience with production forecasting, reporting, and performance optimization.
• Working knowledge or developing awareness of rules and regulations relevant to operations within the oil and gas industry.
