About the position:
This role will provide technical expertise and optimize well productivity through well stimulation techniques such as hydraulic fracture, matrix acidization and acid fracturing design for world-wide assets of Chevron.
Key Responsibilities
Job supports the application of techniques to evaluate, maintain, restore, and enhance reservoir and well productivity
Supports technologies associated with both well stimulation (acidizing and hydraulic fracturing) and formation damage identification, prevention, and remediation (fines migration, scaling, and corrosion)
This position works with production chemistry experts to select and test fluids used to support well operations and teams with completion experts to ensure execution quality of well stimulation jobs
Creates & deploys in-house training and build technical excellence within Chevron
Full or part-time participation in subsurface platform activities such as Epic or Technical Feature Owner in the Chevron Technical Center
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s / Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or other engineering discipline from deemed/recognized (AICTE) university
Domain expertise in general Production Engineering
Experience in Well Optimization and Well Stimulation
Solid understanding of design parameters and guides selection of appropriate products (type and quantity of proppant and frac fluid type, volume and type of acid, injection rate, etc.) of different types of well stimulation techniques
Demonstrated knowledge of Well Productivity Analysis at any flowing conditions
5+ years of Experience in Hydraulic Fracture design and completion optimization of unconventional reservoirs
5+ years of Experience in Acid Fracturing design and optimization in Carbonate Reservoirs
Demonstrated experience in hydraulic fracture simulation (Kinetix, Stimplan, etc.) is preferred
Proficient in determining formation damage potential, type, extent, bypass and / or mitigation strategy, remedial solution for complex formation damage conditions with understanding of formation minerology, fluid analysis and different diagnostic well surveillance procedures for different field conditions and reservoir types
