The Role

The Primary purpose of this position is to provide daily support to the production assembly lines in order to improve quality and assembly costs while meeting Area KPI targets and drive Continuous Improvements in accordance with Volvo Production System.

 

The key success factors for this role are to deliver excellence in the performance of the related process, as well as fulfilling the Customer’s expectations, in doing so achieving the Company’s Global Manufacturing KPI’s.

 

The role is being offered on a permanent full time basis and an immediate start is available for the right candidate. This role falls under the Volvo GTO ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2024, LEVEL 6, $84,418 per annum. 

Key Responsibilities

Productivity, Efficiency and Quality

Participate in SOP validation and updating for changes to process within functional area (IB, CA, project product) Actively participate in continuous improvement (Quick/Standard Kaizens)  Achieve through-put KPI targets Provide support to the production assembly lines and cross-functional team Instigate and undertake special project investigations as required. Support cross-functional team involvement with product change projects and activities and Support Pre-series model Introductions. Assist the Manager with relevant activities as required. Technical ​​​​​​

A good understanding in lean manufacturing of 4M (Man/Woman, Material, Machine, Method).

1. Man/Women Support time study analysis. (For example: Avix, Recording, Line Balance, assembling) Translate all new product information into assembly instructions for production and logistics teams Evaluating Project Concepts and acting as a conduit to production Follow and assemble product change project builds online and act as an expert in the project office Lead trainer to assemble new products during project builds stage Being a point of reference for all stakeholders of the impact of their respective areas for product changes Support project builds on the shop floor

2. Material

Address the parts to the right use-point on design or layout changes. Supporting production and logistics teams to secure parts at the right stations Technical

3. Machine

Support in providing the proper tooling for production in collaboration with the x-functional team and the Tooling Equipment Engineers. Reviewing and making recommendations for tooling adjustments Use specialized tooling when required: Hand tools, Measuring tools, Safety tools and equipment

4. Method

Create and update assembly instructions and SOP for Production regarding DCN and other assembly changes that may affect the instructions. Support the creation of shopfloor layouts aligned to Lean Manufacturing Principles Working closely with assembly teams to identify the best method of assembly Identifying and reporting assembly issues in product change builds Facilitating activities to deliver product technical preparation solutions
