Production Inspector, 2nd Shift (2024-119) Astronics Subsidiary Astronics AES Location Kirkland, WA Description **This is a second shift position. Hours are Monday - Thursday 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m..** This role will pay a shift differential of $2.00 per hour on top of the base hourly rate. **JOB SUMMARY** The Inspector will work from blueprints, engineering change notices, or established operating procedures to perform a wide range of complex inspection procedures and determine acceptance, rejection, or rework requirements at various stages of production. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS** The Production Inspector conducts in-process inspections and/or completes the final verification of end-item products. They will complete the following job duties: + Perform inspection of manufacturing goods during the manufacturing process. + Conducts dimensional and electrical inspection of sub-assemblies or final systems assemblies. + Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers. + Interprets prints, manufacturing drawings, diagrams, wire cards and lists in approving or rejecting in-process or final assemblies. + May perform in process inspections of rework items. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** **Education/Experience:** + High school diploma or GED required. + Demonstrates familiarity (typically 1-2 years of Production experience in the essential functions of the position) **Technical Skills:** + Basic computer skills, including email + Basic ERP skills + Basic Microsoft Office Suite + Ability to obtain J-Std and IPC certifications + May require flight critical certification **Physical Requirements:** + May be stationary for long periods of time + May lift up to 25 pounds **Work Environment:** This position is primarily located in a manufacturing environment with moderate to significant noise and interruptions. The performance of work duties will require employees to be aware of possible hazards and safety precautions to maintain a safe work environment, including but not limited to the following: + Wear company provided PPE + Ensure PPE is in good working order + Notify manager/supervisor/EHSM of PPE needs + AVOID use of any equipment that you have not been trained on. + AVOID going into High Voltage areas without an authorized person present. + Report safety hazards to manager/supervisor/EHSM + Report any “Near Misses” to your manager and/or the EHS Manager **ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS** + As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
