Workplace Arrangement:
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Provides relief to other operators in the facility by operating equipment and performing diverse job functions on a routine basis. Provides support to team leaders. Trains production operators in new and existing practices. Recommends changes to achieve improved efficiency.
IV. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
A. Essential Functions:
1. Performs tasks as outlined in job descriptions for: Warehouse operative, Skilled operative.
2. Trains production operators in new and existing practices.
3. Able to plan production processes to hit production. Including operation of: acetators, tank cuts, RO, and freezer. Ability to implement the production plan across shifts daily.
4. Support in an inventory management role through cycle counting and troubleshooting of SAP.
5. When not providing relief for other operators on a scheduled basis, will float to other positions and may occasionally work in a number of roles in any given shift.
a. The schedule for a vacation relief operator includes a rotating schedule and occasional short notice work demands. A high degree of flexibility is required.
6. Operates computer systems including intelex, SAP, and excel.
7. Follow established procedures and run setpoints to achieve QC approved products with optimal yields at lowest costs. Recommends changes to achieve improved efficiency.
8. Washes and cleans equipment per the sanitation manual. Follows GMP program and rules.
9. Operates forklifts.
B. Marginal Functions:
1. Assist other production operators as time/shift allows.
2. May be certified as a forklift trainer.
V. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS (CONTACTS)
A. EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED.
B. EXPERIENCE: None required. C. SKILLS Must have the ability to work alone and in close cooperation with production personnel. Capable of working through complex problems alone or with others to provide logical solutions.
VII. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
A. The physical demands of this position include the ability to walk and stand on a regular basis. Must climb stairs and ladders. The ability to reach, bend/stoop, crouch, squat, push/pull and manipulate is frequently required. Must frequently lift product from a variety of positions to 50 pounds and has minimal requirement to lift over 50 pounds. Talking, hearing, vision, reading and writing are required to perform this job.
B. The job is performed normally performed inside, however there are requirements to work outdoors as defined in job specific description. There is exposure to humidity, dust, fumes, noise, and chemical agents. Hearing protection is required in specific areas. On occasion there is close proximity to moving objects and sharp objects. The floor surface is linoleum, tile, metal grates, or concrete frequently wet in some areas. The temperature is variable based on the season and the task being performed. There is exposure to confined spaces including tank entry.
