Job Title: Production Lead (Controls Technician)
Job Description

As the Production Lead (Controls Technician), you will be required to possess a solid understanding of technical abilities while leading and managing install projects, shop operations, and overseeing outside contractors/vendors. Though you will not manage direct employees, you will handle multiple projects and vendor partnerships associated with panel build shops, machine shops, and more. Independence, effective communication with customers and vendors, and strong documentation and organization skills are essential. You must be able to work under pressure to complete system updates within tight timeframes at customer sites.

ResponsibilitiesLead and manage install projects, shop operations, and vendor partnerships.Troubleshoot and edit PLCs, particularly Allen Bradley PLCs.Integrate systems and complete tasks such as logging into OPC servers on Windows platforms.Read, edit, and create schematics in AutoCAD Electrical.Diagnose and troubleshoot low voltage systems.Utilize soldering equipment, power tools, and fault-testing devices.Travel 20% of the time, typically for 3 days at a time, with short notice (3-4 days).Organize and install systems during plant downtime to ensure timely completion.Make travel accommodations and manage expenses with a provided credit card.Essential Skills5-10 years of experience in controls engineering.Proficient in PLC communication protocols and ladder logic programming in Allen Bradley PLC systems.Proficient in creating and interpreting electrical schematics in AutoCAD Electrical.Strong knowledge and experience with low voltage systems.Ability to operate soldering equipment, power tools, and fault-testing devices.Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in Windows.Effective customer interface skills and the ability to organize and communicate effectively.Proficiency in OPC configuration (KepWareEX) systems for integration.Additional Skills & QualificationsDegree or community college classes taken.Associates or bachelor's degree preferred.Work Environment

You will work in a newly updated office space with flexibility and a smaller, family-style company atmosphere. The standard workweek is 40-45 hours, aside from travel time. The company offers good benefits and a unique business environment. Some remote flexibility is available if needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.50 - $45.00/hr.
