**Job Description:**
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Work with Production Supervisor to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and production schedule are met
+ Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure that production procedures are followed and meet all GMP and safety requirements
+ Arrange for and train temporary and permanent staff in performance of tasks for efficient line operations
+ Report all quality, production and equipment issues to Production Supervisor and maintenance on shift
+ Assist Production Supervisor to ensure efficient, high quality operation to meet production targets, including monitoring staffing, waste, productivity
+ Ensure efficient and effective line change-overs
+ Guarantee that adequate raw materials are onsite for production preventing unplanned downtime
+ Monitor product quality (including sampling/record-keeping) to ensure products meet required specifications – including immediately addressing issues with QC Technicians, Supervisor, Maintenance staff as required to minimize waste and downtime
+ Support the Supervisor and shift team in successfully meeting all operations objectives, including employee health, safety and training, product quality, production effectiveness, cost control and continuous improvement
+ Ensure company policy and departmental Standard Operating Procedures, forms and work aids are developed, implemented, enforced and reviewed
+ Provide direction to staff regarding assigned tasks and performance expectations through the use of clear job descriptions, coaching and team meetings
+ Conduct spot investigations/ audits and regular inspections to ensure all work is performed safely
+ And other duties as required
+ Such as filling in for team members as needed (absences, breaks, lunch)
**Key Skills + Abilities:**
+ LANGUAGE SKILLS: Competency in English language (read, write, speak); excellent written, oral, and listening skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with groups of employees.
+ COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook. Proficiency in SAP or other warehouse management systems. Detailed SAP experience using all related transaction and analytics.
+ MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Can add, subtract, divide and have ability to calculate figures and amounts such as weights and cubic measurements.
+ REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret and prioritize a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
+ PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. + WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment varies from quiet to that of a normal warehouse operation with material handling equipment noise in background. Standard working shift in Richmond Hill is a 12 hour continental shift structure.
**Qualifications:**
+ Previous experience in a manufacturing environment – preferably in the food industry
+ Leadership experience within a manufacturing environment preferred
+ Demonstrated drive to continuously improve operations
+ Ability to accomplish established goals through the efforts of others by motivating, fostering teamwork, resolving conflict, coaching, safety management, production planning and manufacturing control planning
+ Ability to support team members in meeting performance expectations and escalating performance infractions to the shift Supervisor immediately
