Production Leader

We have an opening for a Production Leader based in Bridgeton, NJ! The Production Leader is responsible for the line results & capability development of the line team. The role of the Line Leader is to lead the Line Trio and Line Team to deliver safety, quality, cost and production objectives.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Provides leadership to the Line Team (frontline workers) and Line Trio (Line Leader, Process Engineer, and Maintenance Leader) through clear priorities and directionDevelops Annual and 90-Day action plans for the line(s)Ensures line staffing is adequate and availableDrives accountability within the team and self to implement and follow Danone Integrated Work Systems (IWS) principles Provides training on key Daily Management Systems (DMS) to technicians, including evaluation and qualificationSupport supply chain loss analysis/eliminationDrive cultural change by leading the organization engagement surveys results Implements and follows all safety procedures as stated in safety standards, and code of ethicsEnsures all safety rules, plant rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and code of ethics are followed by employees, supervisors, customers, and visitors at all timesTrains, coaches, and gives timely performance appraisals to employeesAble to back-up or represent the Business Unit Manager as requiredCollaborate with Process Engineer and Maintenance Leader to develop and maintain standardsUse data to identify process lossesWork with line management to prioritize improvement opportunitiesEliminate or reduce prioritized losses through process or work system changesLead the Daily Direction Setting (DDS) process Own critical daily management systemsStandardize equipment and work processes.  Update process control strategies and operating procedures as changes occurShare and reapply learning across processes, modules, and plantsPrepare and give training on process/equipment changesDevelop self through participating in corporate and external trainingSpend 60-80% of time on the floorDemonstrate technical expertise for a designated processCoach and collaborate with the line teams, site and regional equipment or process owners related operations/process fieldsMaintains a safe and clean working environment for all employees and visitors. Delivers on SQCDMN daily/weekly/monthly/yearly goals and objectives through individual and team effortsEnsures adherence to safety standards and regulations (WISE) to ensure a safe working environment

 

SUPERVISOR RESPONSiBILITIES:

Supervise union/nonunion employees in the production area and composite closures, ensuring product quality, food safety, safety compliance, awareness, and teamwork. Trains, develops, and coaches all employees on production line. Provides leadership in hiring and disciplinary recommendations. Monitors and reviews the performance and timekeeping of employees. Initiates corrective disciplinary actions as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company and CBA policies.

Education and Experience

 

4-year engineering degree or equivalent preferred3 to 5 years leadership experience within a manufacturing environment with demonstrated technical aptitude requiredFood, beverage and pharmaceutical experience preferredExperience in lean manufacturing environment preferred
