Overview
Hire Resolve is seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Manager to join a dynamic conveyor manufacturing company based in Centurion. This role is pivotal in overseeing production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the Pulleys department’s operations and full functions. Report directly to top management (Directors). Initiate and lead meetings for new projects/orders to determine specific job requirements and scheduling. Generate production and costings reports. Follow up daily on: Supervision and scheduling of all production activities. Work in progress related to supplier and subcontractor orders. Work on the factory floor. Daily QC activities in the factory and at subcontractors. Maintenance and monitoring of Health and Safety (QMS 9001:2015). Maintenance of the quality system and compilation of data books for specific projects. Digital production schedules for multiple projects with assistance from material controller and production planner. Manage at least 50 employees across various levels, requiring: A positive but strict management style. A balance between positive engagement and necessary discipline. Supervision of engineering, drafting, planning, and admin staff. Oversight of employees ranging from laborers to qualified tradesmen. Strong communication and positive relationships with foremen and supervisors as a non-negotiable priority. Training of lower-level management and staff as needed (on-the-job training). Ongoing evaluation of employee performance and productivity. Knowledge of Metal Industry Bargaining Council (MEIBC) is advantageous.Requirements:
Qualified Trade Production Management tertiary education highly advantageous Minimum of 8 years of experience in a production management role within the Steel fabrication and Machining. Strong understanding of production processes and methodologies. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Proficiency in production planning tools and software. Knowledge of safety and quality management standards. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
