Production Manager - 19086
Our client, a leader in their industry, and an employer of choice, is seeking a progressive Production Manager to join their leadership team.

You have a proven track record in leading teams within a unionized environment, leading and implementing strategies in manufacturing operations, driving a culture of safety, quality, environmental consciousness and building a lean manufacturing culture. The Production Manager will lead effective and efficient utilization of plant personnel and physical facilities to achieve organizational goals, in conjunction with company vision, values, principles and established procedures.

Production Manager Responsibilities: Lead, plan, direct and manage multi shift operations to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner Work with the maintenance team to manage preventive maintenance equipment to minimize downtime, assure safe operation, and continuously improve maintenance functions to prevent premature machine failures. Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times Plan and direct activities of the Production functions which may include; preparation of master schedule, forecast inventory levels, establish inventory turn rates, preparation of the production plan, direct the assigned production activities responsible for producing quality product on time as scheduled Preparation of annual budget including reviewing and recommending capital and operational expenses as well as monthly reporting Provide operations leadership in a fast-paced environment to ensure expectations are met relative to delivery, quality, cost, inventory targets, and key internal and external metrics Develop and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and cost savings Assist in implementing cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and benefits Initiate and participate in implementation of new manufacturing processes, product, and system technology to meet operational objectives Ensure all internal safety policies and legislation are followed Ensure all employees comply are engaged and knowledgeable of health and safety policies including PPE, accident investigation, lock out etc.
Qualifications: Post-secondary education in Operations Management, Business or Engineering preferred, or a combination of education and experience 5+ years’ leadership experience in Manufacturing, managing lead hands, and unionized staff Decision-making and problem=solving skills Proven ability to effectively coach, mentor and develop others Experience in Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing with proven results Solid verbal and written communication skills
Compensation and Benefits:  The discussed salary range is $100,000 -$125,000, depending upon experience. Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations will also be considered Comprehensive benefits plan Bonus program Only candidates already eligible to work in Canada will be reviewed.
