Job descriptionDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reports to the Plant Manager and works collaboratively as part of the Plant Leadership TeamPlan and direct plant operations for facility. Direct and manage staff activities, which generally includes ensuring correct workload planning, receiving, maintenance, inventory controls and distributionProactively review practices for correct, quality workmanship and process flow, along with timeliness. Diagnose any potential areas needing improvement and identify and implement process improvements to increase productivityEnsures complete and timely product delivery. Prepares and distributes production schedulesEnsure quality to standard. Establishes, maintains and facilitates product quality specificationsResponsible for quality of all products and materials from designated areas of responsibility. Meeting all production specifications, implementation of QC programs and working with vendors and suppliers to meet our specifications on incoming raw materialsTechnical responsibilities with vendors and suppliers. May also require technical interaction with Research and DevelopmentEnsure communication of results vs. standards. Prepares and distributes production reportsEnsure a safe work environment. Promptly address safety issues and ensure OSHA standard and ISO 9000 compliance (if applicable). Administer safety training and meetings. Monitor associate activities to ensure adherence to policiesImplement and maintain preventative maintenance programs, ensuring effective equipment utilization and that safety measures are in place. Schedule downtime for equipment maintenance and repairsReviews data to seek process, people and machine improvements and develops plans to instill desired resultsCollaborates with all departments including Customer Service, Scheduling Procurement, Quality Control, EHS, Finance, Maintenance, and Engineering to ensure processes are running in control and delivering a high-quality product on time to our customersAs applicable, management of hazardous waste programsMeet or exceed budgeted financial performance standards. Prepare and administer departmental budgetsMaintains an organized work environment to ensure a safe, efficient operationResponsible for determining the staffing levels for productionResponsible for the development of group leaders and associatesResponsible for the standard work of each member of the teamResponsible for developing and maintaining a continuous improvement cultureCommunicate with team leaders, group leaders and associates on other shiftsMay serve as a facilitator on a designated Safety TeamPerforms other duties as assigned QualificationsMinimum Candidate Qualifications:
High School degree or equivalentMS Office software demonstrated capability5 years of supervisory and production management experienceDemonstrated ability to meet objectives within time-sensitive deadlines with outstanding follow-through, time management and planning skillsAbility to adjust manpower and departmental spending to demandAbility to forecast production requirements and organize workload into a scheduleSolid knowledge of how manufacturing, customer service and physical distribution processes and functions interrelateProven record of implementing and utilizing Lean Manufacturing principlesDemonstrate leadership in management, staff development and training with analytical and problem-solving skillsOnboarding and training of production team membersExcellent communications with strong customer service orientationMust be able to travel up to 10% (as required)Preferred Candidate Qualifications:
