Job Summary Work Shift 2 - Second Shift Are you the type of person who is passionate about developing leaders who execute daily operations in a manufacturing plant? In this role you will direct and manage the activity of Production Area Managers and Production Team Leaders that are responsible for producing high quality Vermeer products. We’re looking for someone who can collaborate with teams such as: Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, Procurement, Human Resources, Sales, and Service to improve manufacturing operations and meet daily production goals. What You’ll Do 1 . Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement teams to ensure a lean manufacturing approach is being used to conduct business, eliminate waste, and reduce work-in-process. 2 . Monitor and respond to plant performance in the areas of production uptime, downtime, and efficiency data to determine production problems and equipment and employee needs and develop processes and procedures to improve efficiency . Direct, prioritize and coordinate production according to customer demand and need to achieve on-time delivery within or below budget . Maintain a safe and compliant environment according to safety standards, policies, and employee welfare. 3 . Contribute to the business planning of the division by monitoring, requesting and properly utilizing production needs and demands to drive production effectiveness within budget. 4. Train and development Production Area Managers to ensure strong performance in Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) metrics and goals, as well as leadership development . What We’re Looking For - Bachelors degree and minimum four years' experience in a manufacturing or equivalent business leadership role. - Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts, policies, standards, programs, and schedules. - Ability to manage, lead, and develop staff in the performance of duties such that performance meets or exceeds expectations. - Ability to work with others in the attainment of department duties and organization goals. - Ability to attain performance measures in the areas of safety, quality, cost, delivery, and leadership. - Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers and maintain positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness with customers and peers. - Ability to produce accurate , professional, and error-free documents in a timely manner . - Demonstration of good verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to identify, confront and resolve conflict in an effective manner by working with people in all levels of the Organization. - Ability to see the big picture and how an area affects the rest of the Organization. - Good project management skills. Travel - Occasional travel is expected of this position. Work Location ONSITE: A team member’s day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
