Job Summary:


The Production Manager owns the day-to-day operations for Teledyne FLIR’s Mission Systems electro-mechanical assemblies, cable harness fabrications, and Final Integration and Test areas, and also manages the production schedule. The position interfaces with Program Management, Production Engineering, Supply Chain, and Planning & Quality to ensure on-time delivery of quality products. The Production Manager will have 4-5 direct reports and approximately 13-14 indirect reports.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Supervise production team and manage and execute production projects.

Work with the team to plan, schedule, and perform production activities.

Assign daily workload to supervisors and team members.

Develop production program to support company objectives, including multi-year production forecasts.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production quality and capacity.

Organize job trainings for team members to aid in achieving production goals.

Investigate production issues and develop resolutions.

Determine equipment, material, and manpower requirements for project execution.

Recommend cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards.

Assist in employee recruitment, performance evaluation, promotion, retention, and termination activities.

Monitor production activities and adjust schedules for on-time delivery.

Ensure that final product meets quality standards and customer specifications.

Ensure the team follows company policies and safety standards.

Job Qualifications:

8-10+ years of experience working in a production or manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

Experience in boutique manufacturing, electro-mechanical integration, and systems integration strongly preferred.

5+ years of experience in a management/people leadership role strongly preferred.

Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.

Demonstrated leadership skills in a manufacturing environment.

Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project, PowerPoint).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work well with many different departments and external suppliers.

Able to consistently keep the end-user/customer in mind.

Able and willing to travel approximately 10%, both domestic and international for localization initiatives.  

Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.

Salary Range:

$89,250.00-$120,225.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
