Production Manager
The Tactical Systems Division within Amentum is searching for a highly motivated and technically competent Production Manager. The candidate will be part of a rapid development team that delivers high end electromechanical systems and products from concept thru delivery. These products safeguard the US and allies from threats at home and abroad. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the production team to proactively alleviate risks and issues related to executing product production and on time delivery. They will be responsible for planning and coordinating with engineering, procurement and the product manager to regulate product inventories. They will also develop production strategies, manage budgets and inventories. They will also collaborate with other management personnel to ensure mission success. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities include: + Production Planning and Scheduling: Responsible for creating and implementing production plans, including determining production targets, setting timelines, and allocating resources. + They develop strategies to optimize production efficiency and ensure the timely completion of projects. + This includes working with both internal and external contract manufacturers to satisfy schedule requirements. + Resource Management: They will oversee the allocation of resources such as materials, tools, and manpower. + They analyze production requirements, coordinate with procurement to ensure the availability of necessary materials. + Quality Control and Assurance: They will develop and implement quality control procedures, establish quality standards, and conduct regular inspections to ensure that products meet or exceed expectations. + Process Improvement: They will continuously seek opportunities to improve production processes. They identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and optimize workflow. + Communication and Collaboration: They will collaborate with various departments, such as engineering, procurement, and program management, to ensure seamless coordination and communicate production goals, progress, and challenges. + Budgeting and Cost Control: They will be involved in budget planning and cost control. They analyze production costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize expenses without compromising quality and productivity. + Parts Management and Kitting: They will be responsible for overseeing and managing the parts inventory and will work with procurement to order, receive and stock production parts. They will also distribute parts in “kits” for internal and external productions. + Configuration Management: They will maintain and ensure that the approved production documentation is updated and stored in a product data management system. This PDM system will track revisions manage change orders and maintain Bills of Materials. + Background in Production Engineering is preferred. + Proficient in electronic production from PCA parts procurement to assembly. + Knowledge of cable and chassis assembly and harness and AS9100 a plus. + No clearance required but the ability to secure a clearance is required. + Background in Production Engineering is preferred. + Proficient in electronic production from PCA parts procurement to assembly.
