Job Description
The production manager is responsible for developing and executing plans to meet customer product delivery requirements. This includes but is not limited to production schedule and quantities by operation, raw material inventory and order management, and support of various other activities up to and including product shipment. The role must be carried out with heavy emphasis on Quality, Cost, and Delivery.
ResponsibilitiesCreate detailed production plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and work orders to meet production targets.Manage and maintain appropriate inventory levels by closely monitoring past order data, economic information, seasonal factors, and competitors’ conditions.Grasp and manage inventories for each product to avoid surplus or shortages of inventory.Manage monthly inventory levels of raw materials, ensuring timely procurement, and optimizing equipment usage. Develop and communicate purchasing plans and forecasts to all affected departments.Work closely with the Quality and Production departments to assist in quality improvement activities and ensure proper defect management and containment policies are followed.Track production costs, identify areas for cost reduction, and manage budgets effectively.Support safety regulations and procedures within the production environment to prevent accidents.Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.Implement initiatives to streamline production processes, optimize workflow, and enhance productivity.Collaborate with other departments like sales, maintenance, and engineering to ensure smooth production flow.Work closely with the Plant Manager and others to develop process plans that support production scheduling requirements.Essential SkillsStrong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Solid communication skills to interact professionally with internal and external customers.Strong math and analytical skills.Detail-oriented with leadership skills and adaptability to changing work situations.Problem-solving abilities to address production issues promptly.Additional Skills & Qualifications4+ years of manufacturing experience, including management experience.Experience with extrusion manufacturing processes, tooling, quality control methods, and statistical process control (SPC).Injection plastics and urethane process experience a plus.Previous exposure to a multicultural office environment is a plus.Experience managing production schedules and resources or other equivalent experience.Training or applicable experience with automotive APQP documents, PPAP submittals, etc. is preferred.Automotive or plastics injection or extrusion experience a plus.Why Work Here?

Work Environment - Automotive Parts Manufacting
Open office environment with moderate to loud noise. Standard automotive plant environment with PPE such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and hearing protection. Personal attire standards may apply. Ability to walk or stand for extended periods and use hands and fingers to handle and feel. May occasionally be required to lift up to 60 pounds. Day shift hours M-F, occasional Saturdays, no Sundays.
***Starting salary $47k-$56k/ year based on experience in Washington, IN!***Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $56160.00/yr.
