Your Role:

 

The Team Leader plays a key leadership role within the production team, balancing hands-on involvement on the production line with guiding and supporting team members. As subject matter experts, Team Leaders ensure production activities meet safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency standards. They take the lead in troubleshooting, resolving issues, managing line schedules, and providing training on procedures. While actively contributing to the team’s daily operations, Team Leaders also hold responsibility for driving shift performance targets. Acting as role models, they develop team members, foster effective communication across shifts and with supervisors, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance and operational success. 

 Team Lead role is responsible for supporting daily production activities, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency while meeting performance targets by leading troubleshooting, managing escalations, covering team members for efficiency, as needed. They also play an active role in developing team members, facilitating communication, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. 

 Responsibilities:

 

Shift: Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pmSafety and Quality Excellence: Ensuring the adherence to safety and quality regulations, specifications, and policies to enable strong delivery to the customer. Enabling team members to pre-empt injuries and quality non-conformances by using data-driven insights, formal risk assessments, and proactive safety and quality observationsBuilding & Empowering Autonomous Teams: Establishing a unified, customer-centric delivery approach by forming cross-functional teams within the organization promoting teamwork and collaboration. Developing autonomous culture within these teams by enhancing individual contributors' skills through targeted training programs & enabling team members to work independently to drive efficiency and innovationOperational & Supply Chain Excellence: Ability to manage processes and resources to enhance workforce agility, by leveraging tools and processes of Life Science Production System to ensure reliable supply and cost efficiency. Knowledgeable about supply chain components and the flow of goods and services from raw materials to customersChange Management: Proactively guides teams through change using basic change management concepts. Ability to translate strategic initiatives into clear, actionable plan for production floor with storytelling and examples. Ability to minimize resistance, engage stakeholders, and promote adaptability to achieve operational goalsAccountable for overall manufacturing performance within shift on all fronts (Safety, Quality, Supply Continuity) Responsible for Actively identify areas for immediate improvement and implement best practices at the team level to enhance operational efficiency and product qualityEffectively use automation tools and digital applications to streamline daily operations, providing feedback on their effectiveness and troubleshooting any issues that ariseAct as Owner & Collaborate with other team leads to share best practices and communicate team needs to supervisors, ensuring alignment and support across departmentsData Collection and Reporting: Collect and report team performance data, using metrics to inform immediate operational decisions and drive performance improvementsSupport Change Management: Assist team members through changes in processes and technologies, encouraging feedback and adaptation to new methods while promoting a culture of continuous improvement

 Who You Are

 

 Minimum Qualifications:

 

Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology or other Life Science discipline 

OR

High School Diploma or GED10+ years’ experience in scientific laboratory setting with demonstrated capabilities

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Masters Degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or other Life Science discipline 5+ years experience in scientific laboratory setting with demonstrated capabilities2+ years experience leading people in manufacturing/operations setting
