2nd Shift Production Operator
This position requires 3 years of experience in a manufacturing facility. Extrusion experience is a plus. In this position, you will be running extrusion lines, cleaning, weighing, mixing and adding powder resins into production lines to ensure the highest quality product for our customers. Forklift certification is a plus.
Essential Functions
· Sets up, starts and runs all machinery, checking all controls for adherence to operating/safety procedures and ISO standards.
· Weighs ingredients to meet recipe specification and inserts into machinery, or ensures the correct ingredients are delivered to the work area and inserts pre-blended materials into machinery.
· Monitors production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Troubleshoots equipment and processing issues.
· Operates machinery to mix, extrude/discharge or handle materials according to operating procedures.
· Examines materials visually or physically to ensure conformance with established standards.
· May take samples of materials to lab for evaluation and instructions on any batch adjustments if needed.
· Refers issues/problems to Production Lead or Production/Shift Supervisor for disposition.
· Performs all required machine cleaning.
· Completes and maintains all required system inputs/transactions. Responsible for data integrity.
· Documents work completed as required including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.
· Participates in training, retraining and continual improvement processes and methods.
· Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
· Other projects / duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
· Proven extruder or machine operating experience
· Must be able to lift 50lbs continuously for entire shift
· US High School diploma, GED equivalency or relevant experience
· Adherence to health and safety regulations (i.e. constant use of protective gear)
· Preferred Forklift experience
· Flexibility in shifts is a plus
· Bilingual a plus, but not required

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to:
· Marked changes in temperature and humidity
· Dust, fumes and/or airborne particles
· Moving mechanical parts and vibration
The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Be aware that in this position you will be working with powdered colorants and more times than not, you will be grimy and dirty at the end of the day.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Be able to lift, push or pull up to 200 lbs. with the aid of equipment. Be able to stand/walk for 10-hour shift. Able to walk, see, (20/40 vision) and hear sufficiently to perform assigned tasks. Be able to communicate orally and in writing. The employee must be able to read at a level of comprehension sufficient to meet job requirements.
