**Job Title: Production Operator**
**Job Description**
As a Production Operator, you will perform machine set-up, operation, and maintenance on various pieces of equipment across different departments. You will make necessary adjustments to ensure production is ready to start on time. This role involves operating equipment from compounding through final assembly, tearing down, and cleaning equipment and work areas. You will process components for sterile production, troubleshoot equipment problems, and work with other staff to maintain efficient fill operations. Additionally, you will review production documentation, verify material counts, close out batch records, and investigate errors. You may be assigned to various production areas based on business needs and participate in training activities for the production team.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate production equipment for compounding sterile and nonsterile products, including washing and sterilizing parts and components, and aseptic filling.
+ Set-up, monitor, adjust, and program aseptic filling machines, vial washing/sterilizing equipment, and compounding equipment within procedural and GMP guidelines.
+ Assist in manufacturing operations for tablet production, including batch processing, filling, and packaging of tablets.
+ Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems with equipment. Disassemble, clean, and prepare parts for reassembly for both sterile and non-sterile production.
+ Check in materials, verify quantity and description, restock inventories, and clean equipment and work areas following aseptic techniques and standard operating procedures.
+ Participate in APA training and qualification programs and maintain qualified status. Practice aseptic techniques in performance of job duties within APA areas.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in production, machine operation, cleanroom environments, assembly, general labor, and packaging.
+ Familiarity with GMP guidelines and aseptic techniques.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical equipment.
+ Ability to perform calculations, conversions, and determine tare weights as required by batch records.
+ Proficiency in using computer software, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
+ Detail-oriented with the ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Associate's degree in electrical and mechanical technologies or equivalent combination of experience and education.
+ 2+ years of experience in a similar field with a background in pharmaceutical manufacturing or equipment maintenance.
+ Knowledge of contemporary electrical and mechanical technologies, fill room practices, and production maintenance procedures.
+ Ability to communicate professionally and work with minimal supervision.
+ Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
+ Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions and present information effectively.

**Work Environment**
The work environment includes cleanrooms with various classifications, requiring aseptic techniques and proper gowning procedures. It involves working with sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products and operating specialized equipment. Note: Individuals allergic to penicillin or related drugs cannot be considered for this role. Uniforms and PPE are provided at no charge.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Syracuse, New York.
