PRIMARY DUTIES
Mill Adjuster
1. Removes and reinstalls roll stands and blocks to set up mill for new size bar/coil
2. Sets trigger mechanism that actuates cut off die to specified length.
3. Sets up rougher to accept the lead end of billet into the rougher and through mill.
4. As necessary, rebuilds boxes in preparation for installation on the line.
5. Inspects first piece for variation from specifications and makes necessary adjustments to mill.
6. Adjusts valves to control flow of coolant on metal and observes operation of lubrication system.
7. Patrols mill to detect jamming.
8. Inspects product visually or by measurement for variation from specified quality standards.
9. Records mill production on schedule sheet.
10. Has senior employee responsibility for junior employees in terms of training and job instructions.
11. Must be thoroughly trained in plant safety procedures and use of available safety devices
