Job Description

Ideal candidates will have the ability and flexibility to work the 2nd shift (2 pm-10 pm), 3rd shift (10 pm-6 am), or a rotating 12-hour night shift (6 pm-6 am). The night shift rotation follows a pattern of 2 nights on, 2 nights off, then 3 nights on, with every other weekend off.  

**Starting wage for this position is $20.64/ hr. + $2.00/ hr. shift differential.**

Job Summary

Completing an initial training period on a day shift for 6-8 weeks may be required even if you were hired for a night shift.  

The Production Operator is responsible for leading machine set-ups and changeovers, problem-solving, making decisions on machine adjustments, and inspecting and packaging finished products to customer specifications. In addition, the production operator will be responsible for operating various coating, finishing, and/or powered industrial vehicles to move inbound and outbound products.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential functions may include, but are not limited to: 

Perform routine set-up and changeover of machines, making adjustments as needed to process operations accordingly.Run orders per product specifications and standard practices. This may include sorting, labeling, and packaging products per customer specifications, quality requirements, and standard practicesPerform tests and check products routinely for multiple characteristics using standard measuring tools, tape measures, etc. Understand and implement quality standards and proceduresMeet production schedules and program production sequences for optimal productivity. Follow standard operating procedures and specifications or instructions of higher-level technical personnel and monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.Maintain production records and logs of equipment and product performance.Maintain the work area with necessary supplies to complete processesOperate heavy equipment to move, load, and ship material and/or finished products throughout the manufacturing environment. Support inventory accuracy by completing cycle counts and correcting discrepancies to achieve business goals. Assist and support other team members in meeting department and site goals. Participate and share in performing all tasks necessary to run the facility.  Contribute and participate in team decision-making processes including problem solving and continuous improvement efforts. Provide support in project work and other special requests.Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experienceMust be able to follow written and oral instructionMust prioritize safety in every aspect of the working environment adhering to established safety practices, policies, and proceduresMust be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requestsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds.

Physical Requirements:

Movement: May require the ability to stand/walk for up to 80% of your shift, with frequent pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and squatting 50% of the time.

Lifting: May require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds 50% of your shift.

Environment: May require being comfortable working in an environment with varying temperatures.
