Summary

The Production Operator (TPO Machine Technician) earns $27.36 per hour and is responsible for producing high quality commercial roofing products at the Cedar City Plant through accuracy, timeliness and efficiency of all manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate thrives in environments where safety, quality, service and cost are the highest priorities. He or she will support the managers and all plant staff to meet Cedar City’s operational goals and perform duties as assigned. Employees will safely contribute to a highly motivated and positive environment.

Essential Duties

Practice incident and accident prevention and demonstrates safe behavior in all activitiesTroubleshoot work related issues while communicating with maintenance and shift leadsConsistently monitor quality by checking production line performance, product specifications and production plansPerform minor maintenance duties and housekeeping throughout the shiftMonitor finished product and reports any defects per plant specificationsPrepare for shutdowns and product changes by completing shutdown/inventory check sheetsWork safely to prevent on the job injuries by following LTV (Lock, Tag, Verify) proceduresPackages and transports finished product to the warehousePerform other duties as instructed by the Lead Technician and plant management teamMaintain a positive working relationship with all plant employees and other business contactsResponsible for monitoring all process alarms by communicating and following up with appropriate actionUse process improvement tools to drive continuous improvement of the plant and business processes

Our Cedar City team leaders will always do the best we can to confirm and communicate work schedules in advance if business conditions change.

Employees will work 4 on / 4 off, 12 hour shifts rotating days to nights every 4 weeksSince our plant currently runs 24/7, holidays and weekends will be required per assigned schedules

Physical Demands

Required to sit, stand, walk and use hands to grasp, handle or feel objects, tools and product samplesSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focusRequired to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouchAbility to perform detailed testing processes in various process conditionsFrequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling the use of manufacturing equipment and machineryAbility to read and concentrate via computer data entry typing and proofreadingRegularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
