What Will Be Your Environment:

The Franklin, WI location is about 15 miles south of Milwaukee, and has about 250 employees. As part of the Advanced Materials division, this site manufactures medical devices such as silicone tubes used in surgeries. Many of our team members operate in a cleanroom environment to maintain safety regulations of these products. 

 

What You'll Do:

The Production Planner primary responsibility is to plan/schedule customer orders in a timely manner to assure on time delivery. Planner also monitors and orders manufactured, purchased and customer supplied components to enable a successful production schedule.

 

What We're Looking For:

Planning: Plan/schedule the manufacturing floor to meet customer demand. Monitoring of manufacturing process to ship commitment. Communicate to the CSR’s any impact to deliveries in a timely fashion. Track on time and in full (OTIF) to Lubrizol’s promise date and customer requested date. Work with Customer Service to update lead times. Reviews demand against production capacity to ensure On Time Delivery. Work with production for capacity planning and prioritization Assist customer service in creating and updating shipping plans Purchasing: Place orders with suppliers to support the plan using MRP. Expedite PO’s to support the plan. Review lead times with suppliers annually, assess impact, and coordinate with customer service for communication plans to customers. Review and calculate safety stock levels as needed based on changes to demand or Lead times. Set up ordering policies i.e., Min. order qty’s Monitoring of equipment utilization and manufacturing capacity. Understand and follow the SOP’s pertaining to the relevant area. Understand and follow the Work Instructions pertaining to the specific area. Experience with Microsoft Office products, inventory control and production reporting software applications. Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills That Make a Difference:

Experience and Qualifications: 

Successful completion of four-years of high school, or equivalent, completion of two years of college or graduation from a two-year technical college with an associate’s degree (preferred) Three to five years of experience in production planning or scheduling in a manufacturing environment, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.

 

Considered a Plus:

Bachelor’s degree APICS certification Purchasing experience

 

OTHER GUIDELINES:

Able to calculate labor hours and cycle times into job order run times and calculating percentages comparing actual to standard rates. Excellent (written and verbal) communication and effective human interaction skills. Flexible to change and possess a high degree level of integrity and “can do attitude”. Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals. Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner.

 

DESCRIPTION OF MARGINAL DUTIES:

Works with Customer Service on accurate lead time commitments to customers. Identifies any risks to shipments for timely customer communication. Coordinates with Product Development on scheduling new products into the production environment. Tracks on time delivery and reasons for delinquency to establish root cause and preventive actions. Work towards continuous improvement in scheduling and purchasing processes. Maintains standards for housekeeping and safety.
